Re: Do you believe Lance Armstrong?

At first I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and had no opinion. That said, after all the evidence came out, and multiple cyclists with no incentive to lie came out and claimed they saw him injecting steroids, i'd bet my life he wasn't clean.

The doping in cycling was at the point where literally every single person in the competition was engaging in it. With that sort of pressure it's hard not to dope, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that he didn't earn his titles cleanly.

Hopefully he comes clean.

Sadly I think you are right. This has to be one of the dirty sports around, but no one seems interested in even trying to clean it up!

I again can't let this pass. I have friends in the cycling world and I truly believe some of them are clean. Yeah they are not among the top but they are cyclists.

And when the tennis world gets as many dope tests (out-of-competition tests, in particular) and policing as cycling, I'll agree with the other statement that I bolded. Now, it's FAR from being the case.

Ignorance shouldn't be free.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).
