To spice things up a bit?

Anyways, referring to the poll. I'm Muslim but I'm really open about a lot of things especially since I was born in the States and since my mother is Japanese as she practices Shinto.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Re: Just curious...what religion are you?

studied in Christian school, think I believe in god, but are yet to become a Christiian as I am not enthusiatic enough, too lazy, may be one day I will go to church as I am afraid to go to hell ..... Life is already very dififcult, how come we have to go to hell if we do not believe in god?

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Epic movies, like brokeback mountain, are seldom found in the industry or worthy for the mainstream viewer. As often as I have watched the clips of this movie, I always find something more to it. For one, the gay stuff doesn't enter the picture for me, only the dimension of the highest love I have ever witnessed in life or on film.

Re: Just curious...what religion are you?

I am not part of any popular religions.

The closest thing to religion I'm in is the "Brothers of the Sun" uprising. There are less than 10 members around the world and we have never met

Fakervic played at 150% against Federer as usual.

Federer was the pioneer of first-strike all-court tennis. This is the real tennis and the beautiful game. Never forget the beauty of what was tennis. Nadull and Fakervic don't win tennis matches. They simply outlast their opponent with endless grinding and stamina. That is ugly. Beautiful tennis is gone now. Never forget the good days of real tennis.

Unnecessary comment.

I don't care if that apparently "silly little story book" means nothing to you. It means a lot to other people and demeaning it is just rude and disrespectful. Just because something does not hold value for you doesn't mean it's ok to treat it disrespectfully. I personally don't see the Bible as something holy, but I do get angry when I hear people speak of it disrespectfully.

And to answer the question, I am Hindu.

As much as Sapeod annoys me, I am in complete agreement with him. He has to respect something that "means a lot to many people"? Why? Respect is something that is earned, not freely given. And giving respect to a fictional book does not sit well with any rational person who has evolved past the need to believe and grovel before an omnipotent magician who has supposedly created everything in seven days.

Sorry, but respecting some words written on a paper by humans does not deserve respect, no matter how much that offends your sensibilities. We live in a free world.

He doesn't need to respect the words. He needs to understand that religious texts mean a great deal to some people, and calling them silly can just be hurtful. Just like a religious person calling an atheist stupid. We need to understand and respect the fact that everyone has different beliefs and try not to belittle other people for believing certain things.

Everyone is free to believe what they want. I personally don't think it's ok for people to say rude things about other people's personal beliefs. Religion means a huge deal to many people, and calling religious people irrational is just not ok. We all have our own reasons for believing what we believe.

Re: Just curious...what religion are you?

Fair enough, but my experience has been that atheists mostly keep to themselves and don't force their view upon anyone. It's mostly religious fanatics that aggressively try to indoctrinate you into their faith and try to "save" you. I have NEVER been harrassed by an atheist...ever. I have been harrassed by religious freaks in CBD during lunchtime and even in my own home when they decide that 7pm on Friday night is a good time to introduce Jesus the saviour into my life. Sometimes even a polite refusal resulted in me being informed that my place in a Lake of Fire was firmly secured when I died if I didn't bow down to some almighty megalomaniac who could smite me with a wave of his hand. Seriously? It's 21st century and yet some people are still living in dark ages. Maybe I should say that I worship Thor, Ra or Odin next time I am approached and ask them to respect my views. After all, monotheism is quite boring, don't you think?

And I agree with you that that is wrong. If someone genuinely wants more information about my faith or wants to talk about it, I'll gladly share my beliefs. If not, I keep them within my own religious group.

An atheist was giving a short speech in my college about how she struggled with being an athiest as certaib religious people kept forcing her into feeling bad for not converting. I agreed with her feelings and supported her speech. I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience with some religious people, but all of them aren't like that. Your experiences doesn't make it ok to belittle other people's beliefs. .
