Re: More News

Emotional Agassi thanks Kerkorian Andre Agassi paid an emotional tribute to Las Vegas gaming pioneer Kirk Kerkorian on Saturday at Agassi's Grand Slam for Children annual megacharity event.

With the 93-year-old Kerkorian in attendance, Agassi singled him out early in the evening's program, which included a surprise appearance by Bill Cosby.

Agassi revealed to the crowd of about 1,500 that Kerkorian "put bread" on the family table during some lean years when his father worked for the original MGM Hotel.

"You called him by his name one day, and he wore it as a badge of honor," Agassi said.

The tennis superstar said his middle name was Kirk in honor of Kerkorian "because you saved my father," Emmanuel "Mike" Agassi.

"I will forever, forever, forever be grateful and I love," Andre Agassi said to Kerkorian.

After his remarks, Agassi"s mother, Elizabeth, approached Kerkorian at his table and said, "We would have never made it without you."

Agassi's brother, Phil, was seen with tears streaming down his face as he thanked Kerkorian.

"When the MGM fire happened (in November 1980) and no one had a job, no one knew Mr. Kerkorian helped us out," Phil Agassi said.

"When our dad had heart surgery in 1995," he said, "Kirk Kerkorian was big on supporting the medical community at the time. We're still waiting for that bill."

Kerkorian, known for his media shyness, was seen leaving his table shortly after being honored.

Organizers said the event raised about $8.5 million, including 450 sponsorship pledges of $2,500 which were matched by the Ralph Engelstad Foundation, which translates into annual scholarships for three quarters of the 600 kids at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy.

That's a half million dollars more than a year ago in a tough economy.

Welcome to Vegas, Buster
Posted 21st October 2010

After much deliberation, and some 'lively' input from Jaden and Jaz, we have added a new member to the Agassi clan. He's a Black Flat Coated Retriever, appropriately named Buster.

With two busy careers, and two children in their prime, we still couldn't help but bring one more bundle of energy under our roof. He's 18 weeks old and has more stamina than four Agassi's put together. He is especially gifted at finding things we thought lost for years, including batteries, shoes and the occasional homework assignment that long ago mysteriously disappeared. Thanks Buster.

He's all puppy, and a great entertainer. It's quite a sight when he does three laps around the yard in high gear, and then collapses as if in a coma. We love him as a bona fide member of the family, and we all pitch in, but as you might expect, it's Stefanie that does most of the heavy lifting, always making sure he's fed and happy, just like the rest of us.

Re: More News

Love that. Is it a second addition to the family as last year, Steffi posted in her blog that she received a German Sheperd named Nandor for her 40th Birthday present. Below is the link.

Agassi and Graf provide once-in-a-Lifetime Experience for HEAD Star Series Promotion Winner
16 Dec 2010
http://www.head.com/tennis/news.php?region=us&id=1814
Seventeen year old Tony Ly from Rockhill, South Carolina experienced the match of his life with Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf in Las Vegas, after winning HEAD’s Star Series Promotion. The online promotion was featured on head.com earlier this year with four short viral videos of Agassi and Graf explaining the different technologies found in the new YouTek Stars Series Racquets.

Ly was able to bring his eighteen year-old brother Brian to enjoy the experience with him. Ly’s parents also made the trip to Las Vegas, after they found out that their son had won a once in a lifetime opportunity. Ly and his family were picked up at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino by limousine and were taken to the Amanda and Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center to meet Stefanie Graf and Andre Agassi. “We couldn't believe that we won this opportunity to go to Las Vegas and play tennis with Andre and Stefanie, because things like that just don't happen to people,” said Ly.

Ly and his brother each grabbed the YouTek™ Radical as their racquet of choice and hit the courts with Agassi and Graf. “We expected to get demolished by them (which we did) but thankfully they took it easy on us, and we even managed to play some good points and hit a few winners,” said Ly.

After getting the chance to hit with the two legendary players, Ly and his family had lunch with the couple and asked questions about his tennis game. Agassi and Graf both provided key advice for both Tony and Brian on how they could improve different shots and gave them key information on how to compete. After taking pictures and getting autographed copies of Andre’s book, the day came to a close and Tony was both grateful and in awe by the opportunity to have such a unique tennis experience.

“This will be a great memory for us. Many tennis players only dream of getting to see Agassi and Graf play, but we actually got to meet them, play tennis with them and have lunch with them,” said Ly.“Thanks for everything, HEAD!”

The Star Series racquets, whose three models include the YouTek Six Star, YouTek Five Star and YouTek Three Star, were launched in May and have earned the prestigious 2010 Red Dot award for Product Design. Agassi and Graf have taken an active part in the promotion of the HEAD Star Series, with the couple appearing in four short viral films explaining the different technologies and their advantages to players of all levels.

Andre needs to stop doing this.

Re: More News

I really doubt that it was a full body naked pic....I highly doubt he would do that. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even really have a naked pic of her on his phone.
