I doubt he will remain on tour that long, but that's just my opnion.

Mardy Fish for president.

As always, it all depends on his health and the (luck of the) draw.

He will win 2 more slams, unless his hip keeps bothering him and he runs into Federer all the time. Rolan Garros is the only slam I don't see him winning.

Agassi loves the sport and the attention it brings too much to just give up because it's "getting tougher every year". The only way he gives it up in the near future is if the doctors tell him to or else he starts losing in the early rounds to crappy opponents. He was hinting at playing next year as well, and winning another slam between now and then might just give him incentive to play in 2007. ***knocking on wood***

I mean, NOBODY in their right mind would claim Andre was in his top form this past Australian Open, and yet in the 2 matches before QF he produced 77 winners to 19 Unforced errors. He did look flat and frustrated against Fed, but then again Andre was prone to "look ordinary" in big matches in his prime as well.

I agree. I just don't know how much more his body can stand. Mentally, he's just as strong as any of those other guys...but physically??...I just don't know how much more he's got in him.

Re: Agassi to retire in 2007

i don't think he can last much longer, he's played well in 2004, but now the younger guys are dominating, and he might not be able to keep up

nope. last year he said that he will be playing a full season in 2005. he did not talk of retirement. besides he probably has a terrific marriage bec they're not under one another all the time. as long he continues to be a threat on the tour, there is no need for talk of retirement IMO.

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

Yea, I know what you mean.. I mean he's obviously in incredible shape, but he seems to have these nagging injuries - and that's to be expected at his age. He's still hitting the ball incredibly well and moving pretty well, so I think he should keep playing as long as he can push the world's best. And I hope he retires on his terms, I hope it's not an injury or something that forces him to finally hang it up. And I'd love to see him pull a Pete - win the USO one last time and call it a day.

That's my one hope for the year...for Andre to get one last slam win. As much as I don't want to see him step out of the spotlight, it would at least make the loss a tiny bit easier.
