Qualifier Jaroslav Pospisil stood little chance against the young Spaniard, Fernando Verdasco. After an hour, Verdasco won 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the second round before rain interrupted play.
But, with his strong, tanned legs, Verdasco, ranked No.59, showed all the weapons that have made him such a great player on clay. His huge, top-spin forehand, solid two-handed backhand and fast legs were working well. Together with his impressive serve, it was a mix that the qualifier Jaroslav Pospisil could not match. Verdasco's performances here at the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad should be watched closely. Time will tell whether he can handle stronger opponents.
By the time Las Chicas get to Madrid....his hair will be long and lucious again
That's wonderful for you all, but I'm going to see him in 5 weeks in Cincy and then at the US Open...while it will be wonderful to see that cute little face, the long lovely locks definitely won't be back by then....poor me...
