OH boy, I'm so sad...see this guy? He's Paul Hunter and he's one of my favourite Snookerplayers... 26 years old...and diagnosed with cancer.... Pffff.... I hope he recovers! He will still compete in the World Championchips starting 16 april.... so brave! I know I wouldn't be able to focus!! for Paul and his family and friends...

I've been crying for the last 20 minutes or so...I know he's not my family and I don't know him personally....but I can't help it..... He's one of my fav's....

Sorry to put this here....Has nothing to do with our Fernando....

Re: ~*~Fernando's Wonderful Chatworld~*~

Nicofan - are you actually Chilean? I know Pato has his own axe to grind - I'm surely he'd dearly love to be DC captain. I know he wanted to coach Marcelo before hooking up with Nico.

You know, I actually think Americans are among the most polite people I've met! I really do - much nicer manners than the Brits, always saying please/thank you and helpful. I've been to quite a few places in the US - and I've enjoyed them all. I loved New York - and the Open! It's a really fan friendly tournament - not at all like Wimbledon. I'd rate the US Open and RG over Wimbledon. Having queued over the yours, it's just not worth it. I don't like the grass, and it's not value for money. With RG and the US Open, they start play at 11 am - and the US Open can go on until the early hours. With Wimbledon, the showcourts are usually all over by 6pm, and then they are looking for a 'star' doubles match to put on.

I think for me the most talented of all times was (Marcelo) Rios. Marat Safin, 2004

Marcelo has an enormous talent. Gaudio, RG champion 2004

"Rios ... he has a beautiful game, great forehand and great touch," Federer, World number 1

Guillermo Coria: "Ríos and Vilas are my two idols"

Re: ~*~Fernando's Wonderful Chatworld~*~

No, not Chileno - just a latino wannabee...lol! Actually from a state called Connecticut which is right by NYC, and have lived in NYC for over 4 years. Love it here.

And thanks for saying we're polite...most people don't think so...lol! But we won't go there... :-)

You think the US Open is fan friendly? I guess I've been going for too long - since I was a kid and can see things that they could change to make it better. And I hate Arthur Ashe stadium - too big, too many corporate seats. I loved the stadium in Miami - even the top seats had a good view.

And I think they should change Wimbledon over to clay. Marcelo was right - grass is for cows! :-) The red clay would look lovely with all that green.

You're right about the matches at Wimbledon vs. the US Open. I noticed that too. I usually was done for the day at about 6-7 at Wimbledon. At the USO, I get there at 9:30 and don't usually leave until 10-11 at night - especially the first week. So I guess I have a love-hate relationship with the USO - I love being able to see all my guys for 10 straight days, all day - but think they could make our lives a tad easier while we are there - but it is much better than it used to be.

Re: ~*~Fernando's Wonderful Chatworld~*~

LOL - yes, I'm a Latino wannabee as well and I think having been to Wimbledon so many times, I'm weary of it. The queuing gets boring after a while. As for corporate hospitality - Wimbledon is rife with it. It's so annoying seeing all those empty seats on Centre Court. What I like about the US Open is, even if you don't have a ticket for Ashe, you can still access all the other courts. With Wimbledon and RG, you have separate tix for Centre, than No. 1/Suzanne Lenglen, No.2/No.1 (RG's no 1). But at the Open, you can go on any court.

I think for me the most talented of all times was (Marcelo) Rios. Marat Safin, 2004

Marcelo has an enormous talent. Gaudio, RG champion 2004

Re: ~*~Fernando's Wonderful Chatworld~*~

We were born in the wrong countries! lol! I always say I should have been born in Spain, Chile or Argentina. And I"m definitely much more a European in the way I think and my views...don't know what went wrong when I was born that I ended up where I did...lol! Or if the very least, if I had to be born in the States, I should have been born in Miami! :-)

That is definitely nice about the US Open. And to be honest, if you don't have a ticket to AA during the day, you can still get in. They never check tickets at AA during the day. I never buy day tickets for AA - just have the grounds pass. Its really only at night that you can't get into AA without a ticket. I never buy the night tickets though for AA - they only have Americans on at night and I don't like any of them (except James). Just stick my ground passes.

Nice site your friend has! She has some really great older pictures. I'll add a link to her site on the links page of my Nico site and let everyone know that she has good pictures. Was nice to see the pictures of 2002 USO - I've never seen pictures of him in those matches and that's when I started to like him! :-)

Re: ~*~Fernando's Wonderful Chatworld~*~

Lady Carlita - so sorry to hear about Paul Hunter...so sad for someone so young, only 26. There are so many treatments and success stories...so there is definite hope for recovery. Keep us posted on how he's doing.

And for me doesn't matter that we really don't know them...we follow our favorite guys so closely that you can't help but feel for them when something bad happens. He looks like such a nice guy, terrible this has to happen to him.
