Re: Head to Head Records who owns who/ Here are the true pigeons?

I see nobody has yet mentioned that Boris Becker simply OWNED John McEnroe, so I will do that:

Becker leads McEnroe 8-2 (according to ATP website)

and he still does so ...Becker completely thrashed McEnroe at an exhibition in Kiel two weeks ago... he won 6-4 6-1

way to go, Boris!!!

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Azza, will that represent the head-to-head when Fed and Poo retire? I don't think that they played that many times yet.

Re: Head to Head Records who owns who/ Here are the true pigeons?

I like this thread alot. Quite a few here I knew about but alot of cool surprises too. Thanks everyone.

Not only does Fabrice have pretty cool records against Safin and Grosjean, he also owns a clean 6-0 record with just one set lost against Nicolas Kiefer.

1999 Australian Open 32 Hard (O) F.SANTORO 7-6(7) 6-1 6-3
2000 Doha SF Hard (O) F.SANTORO 7-5 6-4
2000 Indian Wells 64 Hard (O) F.SANTORO 6-1 6-4
2001 Hamburg 16 Clay (O) F.SANTORO 6-3 6-3
2001 Canada 32 Hard (O) F.SANTORO 4-6 6-4 6-3
2002 Indian Wells 32 Hard (O) F.SANTORO 7-6(1) 6-1

But I think the most dominant H2h I've seen between current players is this one between Tommy Haas and Max Mirnyi. What's amazing isn't so much the 7-0 record but the manner of defeats. Truly Mirnyi can hardly buy a game against Tommy let alone a set. Infact in the last 12 sets they have played Mirnyi has a meagre 24 games to show for it. One imagines that Mr Mirnyi is one guy who isn't jumping for joy to see Haas back and playing well..........

1995 Orange Bowl Championships 64 Clay (O) T.HAAS 6-2 6-1
(This 1st result was back in the juniors - Funny how if you can beat someone in the juniors it can help set the tone for the seniors matches that follow)
2000 Olympics-Sydney QF Hard (O) T.HAAS 4-6 7-5 6-3
2001 Monte Carlo 64 Clay (O) T.HAAS 6-0 6-1
2001 Halle 32 Grass (O) T.HAAS 6-4 6-4
2001 Stuttgart Indoor FR Hard (I) T.HAAS 6-2 6-2 6-2
2002 Miami 64 Hard (O) T.HAAS 6-2 6-0
2002 Rome 64 Clay (O) T.HAAS 6-2 6-2

I support......
Fabrice Santoro

Re: Head to Head Records who owns who/ Here are the true pigeons?

That would qualify Fedex, there are plenty of pigeons out there I think it should remain for current active players.

I have noticed that a lot of these have been repeated more than twice.

Here is a favourite Oldie of mine.

Ivan Lendl/Brad Gilbert 16-0. See Gilbert the junkball didn't work on everyone.

Zabaleta-Vicente 5-1
Enqvist-Rios 7-3
Rios- Spadea 5-0

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
