Are you saying Nadal should be at #26?
nadal should be 15 (still behind agassi IMO)
nole should be 20 right now
however---- i agree with the prof's decision to leave nole at 31 and wait it out before nole gets a huge bump
- if nole decides to crash and burn any higher ranking will make the list look bad
however in 5 years time i expect nole to be next to- if not above rafa
Laurence Doherty is the only player to win the calender grandslam (of his day) without a single loss
he won wimbledon and the US OPEN (without losing a set and the first overseas player to do so)
he won the premier tournies on clay and hardcourts
and if that wasn't enough he did the same thing in doubles aswell
he is by far the greatest player of all times
tennis - from 1890-1910 went through a huge boom period- starting with (of course) the renshaw brothers- with the doherty's took charge the era was incredible- very strong and very fierce- there was no australian open- and the french open was worthless.
this was a time before any world wars- when the world was an incredible place- full of excitment and wonder
the idea that old tennis was boring is not as technical as today is stupid when you consider that the racquets they used were much smaller- so impossible to hit today's shots with- with that being said- laurence doherty is the father of the modern game
