Re: The 2010 Kick Off Thread

You have a video thread now, Fran. Thx for the links.

Misha took the first set 76 (5) with some incredible shot at times. He served better than yesterday (he listened to me apparently, ha) and passed well, volleyed well. He was also more agressive than during the previous rounds. The more he plays, the better he plays. I'm very pleased with him so far.

Re: The 2010 Kick Off Thread

Misha broke for a 4-2 lead and then held serve. 5-2 second set. A two set victory would be nice, looking to the final match.

Re: The 2010 Kick Off Thread

Leading 5-3, Misha had two match points but wasn't able to convert them. Nole broke back and then leveled at 5-5. Misha was a bit tense but then released the tension with a beautiful cross court backhand and encouraged himself loudly in the process. Looks like this set is going to be decided in a tie breaker again.

Re: The 2010 Kick Off Thread

In the tie break, led 2-5, Misha found the mental strength to get back to 6-5 and eventually won the second set 76 (6) !!!!

Misha's back at his very best !!! He's undefeated this year, a part from the AO walk over.

Unfortunately Misha had to retire. Let's focus on the positive side : he'll be No.15 in the rankings tomorrow !!

Not cool to lose it like this, but I just hope he's alright. And indeed, nice jump in the rankings again

Re: The 2010 Kick Off Thread

So he really is going to play... I knew he was on the draw but I thought he would still pull out or something Don't know how serious the injury was last Sunday, so I don't know what to expect.

But 2nd evening match from 6.45pm local today, vs Rufin

Edit: Or not. Apparently he is replaced by Recouderc.
