I think Benoit deserves a thread.
He is just 20, has won several futures tournaments and is ranked 611th
He is playing RG qualies this week
1st round against Giovanni Lapentti and he won the first set 6/3
Great come back on the ATP circuit for Benoît after two weeks off. He won his first round in Montréal against Philipp Kohlschreiber : 7/6(1) 7/5. Now he'll play against Stan Wawrinka ... Always difficult to play a very good friend !
the problem is that he's back with his bad behaviour and plays quite badly nothing with the way he was playing earlier this year An he's starting to have recurrent problem with his elbow
Merci Soulage !!
Benoit is single now is someone is interested  The split is one of the reasons of his bad summer and then he says he had problems of motivation after his great first part of the season he wanted to win easily or with the same sensations that he had during Rome. He has some injuries lately because he played his last tournaments without trainings. He says his back is not very well and he needs two hours by day of treatments while he never does usually. He says he's motivated to play Djoko in second week.
He's still playing bad and with little injuries ; he showed it in the USO ( lost in 5 sets to Bogomolov on R1), and yesterday he lost 60 75 to ERV in an exho in France. Still, he's playing Metz, as the 5th seed, he plays B.Becker on R1, then Q/Olivetti, and then Seppi or Mahut on the QF's. Gilles or Querrey on SF's most likely, so he has a really good chance of making the final if he's 100%, but he could lose on R1 if he keeps playing like in the last month.
Benoît lost (3/6 5/7) against Benjamin Becker on Metz R1. He has been very disappointing during the match and his press conference has been finished off in two minutes ! He just said Becker has been the best and physically he's ok. He has asked a wild card for Orléans, the next week.
Nicely done Benoît , three wins in a row . Gulbis and Ferrer haven't played brilliantly this week, and I think he's the favourite vs Dimi tomorrow, so definitely a chance to win his maiden ATP title ( after the Belgrade & Montpellier finals). Allez!
