Re: Benoit Paire

Paire has qualified for Barcelona, beating Conor Niland 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 in the first round and Marsei Ilhan in the second 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(5). Looked like a battle.

He will play WC Carreno-Busta ranked 283 in the world, so has a high chance to make the second round where he's likely to meet Montanes.

Gilles Simon
Dimitrov • Mahut • Paire • Hewitt • Raonic • Berdych • Gulbis • Murray

Thanks for the memories... Andy Roddick.

Re: Benoit Paire

Lost against Montanes 7-6(3), 1-6, 4-6, was a break up in the last, but Montanes got back in it.

Re: Benoit Paire

Top 100 is getting closer and closer. I think he'll take it in one of the French challengers.

Re: Benoit Paire

Benoit lost today to Robert 4-6 7-6(4) 1-6. Typical inconsistency, maybe the top 100 thing got to him? Do you all think it's good or bad that he keeps up with the rankings? It is a good motivation but it also can make you nervous.

Benoit plays in Roma challenger next week and was drawn a WC Trevisan from Italy in R1. He may play Arno in R2. He has a good draw to do damage and solidify top 100.

Re: Benoit Paire

Got past Trevisan 64 64 and will take on Dustin Brown where Benoit will be the slight favourite.

Re: Benoit Paire

Benoit lost to Brown 1-6 in the third. Typical up and down match from him, flashes of talent, but major inconsistencies and mental fragility. Well, now Benoit plays in Bordeaux and plays Clement in R1. Young v Old Frenchmen, Benoit should have the advantage. He has a good draw so hopefully he can put together a good week.
