Re: Fabio Fognini - The Hope of Italy

He lost ( 1-6, 4-6. His serve precentage in the first set was 30% and a bit better in the second set. He was break up in the second set and could not hold serve (sounds familiar). Maybe it's time for a little rest now. Forza Fabio!

Re: Fabio Fognini - The Hope of Italy

And he beat Stepanek quite comfortably in straight sets. He seems to like this event more than any other of the tennis master series. He needed a good week here too.

Re: Fabio Fognini - The Hope of Italy

Yes, this is a very good result. He has not lost a set in Toronto this year, this should give him confidence. Next Davydenko.

I took a nice picture of Fabio at Roger's Cup during one of his practice sessions.

Re: Fabio Fognini - The Hope of Italy

Fabio lost in the qualifiers for Cincy, but he is the only Italian player to go over to America and play in these tournaments which is good for him, but a shame for Italian tennis overall.

Re: Fabio Fognini - The Hope of Italy

Nice pics, thanks breezybee

Unfortunately he served very poorly against Becker, I think there were 13 dfs. But I agree, it was good to play these tournaments on hard court. Forza Fabio!

Unfortunately it was not much better in New Haven.. He lost to the No. 400 something and the second set even 0-6 I don't know what's wrong... seems he lost his confidence
