2007 Arse Clown Contest

Sure, the event doesnt take place until after the USO, but with the immense amount of talent joining recently, as well as some posters entering their prime, i need to open a discussion thread for it.

I hear GWH is having a 256 draw, as well as possibly a doubles draw!

Myself, im hoping for a high seed

Re: 2007 Arse Clown Contest

Yes, there will be a 256 draw and I am almost tempted to have 2 tournaments this year.

Also to make sure everything is run well. This can be the discussion thread for it and suggestions to the rules, format that we should go with, will be noted and polls will be conducted with a 1 week timeframe for people to vote on this. Once the majority have voted on these, then it will be set.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

It will not be Round Robin.

Mate, why can't we road-test Round Robin this year?

Number 3 seed for you if you want RR.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I hope I'll have a good draw this year because I can't expect favours from the tournament director.

I propose Round Robin as a trial for this year's championships

No, because George will decide who is advancing, despite the scores

What about that Davis Cup?

Re: 2007 Arse Clown Contest

256 draw?

I think one of the main issues that needs to be sorted out is the format. Last time, there were complaints about all three options:

1) Best of 5 sets, 1 vote per game = matches were over too quickly
2) Best of 7 sets, 1 vote per game = it looked a bit ridiculous, overly complicated
3) Best of 5 sets, 1/2 vote per game = far too confusing, had to resort to second votes to get matches complete

The scoring is the biggest one that could be a problem.

Ducky had a suggestion of a 24hr timeframe from when the OP is released and most number of votes within the 24 hour period would progress through to the next round.

It might take longer and have some uneven numbers, but nearly everyone would get a vote which would work.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: 2007 Arse Clown Contest

Is there going to be an Arse Clown series during the summer? Small lead up events to get us pumped up for the real deal?

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.
