Re: Live Congresional Results

Virginia
U.S. House - District 2 | COUNTY RESULTS
Candidate Votes % of votes
Philip Kellam (DEM) 24,369 50%
Thelma Drake (REP)* 24,194 50%

Drake was supposed to win by 5% or more... if Kellam can pull this off it might be a good night for the Dems

Honesty? You cannot be serious.

I can't debate this right now because I'm too nervous so all I will say is ... I can't believe you're a Rafa fan. Rafa fans should be Democrat!

Well, one differnce is the two best players of tennis-a form of entertainment vs the leader of the world. Big difference IMO. People who dissagree with him should make their voices heard. I don't care how he talks, act anything, I care what he has done this my country. ( I like Texans-see my siggy-Molly is PURE Texan! )

Of course they don't have a plan. You don't need to have a plan to get elected.

Of course none of what Bush has done can be undone and we have to deal with it now. The war in Iraq was not only unessasary but also mismanged badly from the start yet according to Bush, Rumsfeld is doing a good job. Now we need a new plan and better mangement of it in Iraq to try and patch up our botched job there. The current bunch of republicans have done nothing to force Bush to change his course there. I expect new thinking and solutions from this new congress. And a president who will HAVE to listen.
I believe that too. I do believe Gore would have done just as good a job in keeping the country united. I believe any president would have done a good job. However, I do not believe that Gore would have use the opportunity, after Afganistan, to go to Iraq...........a decision that I believe was very, very wrong. Considering the state of the US Foreign policy, there isn't a lower level of failure to attain by the US Government.

Actually the dye has already been cast on the abortion issue - its all in the Supreme Court and that branch of the government is now firmly to the right.

Dont you get it? Iraq is not going to be won, this exactly another Vietnam.

American hate in Iraq is extreme. All we've done is create more terrorists.

They had no WMD, we came in, and we messed them up, the execution of Hussein is going to cause serious civil unrest over there.

A change is needed, you are already saying Dem's wont do anything and you havent even gived them a chance.
Clinton was a democrat, and he didnt really do much about terrorism in the 90's. The WTC bombing in 93, the 2 embassy attacks in Africa, the USS Cole, and many others. what did he do about them? this all led up to 9/11 which got dumped onto Bush's lap and he had to deal with them. Sorry for being skeptical about the democrats given their recent experience.

When Bush goes to the congress and senate asking for money for Iraq, he is given a ready made signature without questions being raised. With the Democrats in control, those billions going to Iraq will be questions.........and while I don't expect the Democrats to veto any monies for Iraq, I am hoping that the Democrats will set an agenda that includes sending some of the billions, set aside for Iraq, back to the US Social programs.
good argument, but I would expect more mud-slinging, bashing, vetoes, and filibusters without anything getting done

I'm an American - born/raised in Connecticut, now live in the City.

I have the Chilean flag because of my Nico.

But if the Congress stays Republican, I may ask the good Chilean people to let me live in their country.
