Re: The New, Hopefully Non-Slow Thread!

Nuh, where ever we get a "call" to. But apparetly there's a vacancy in auckland and I know that my mum would love to go back to NZ so I wouldn't be surprising if we went back there.

I live in a valley that has cliffs on both sides. On the west they are 1.000 feet high so the twilight comes to the valley while the mountains are still in full sun. It's impossible to get a picture of how this really looks. Here everything is up and down. Very steep cliffs of red rock. But not much greenery except for here in the valley. There are no lush grasslands. It's mostly sage and rabbit brush and junipers and pinions.

In LOTR RTOK, when they lit the beacons from the mountains.... I was like......... This is so great. And I loved where they put the horse kingdom... you know who I mean... can't think of the name at the moment.

I think that there are also few people in NZ. I like wide open spaces with no people. For a long time at work my wall paper was a picture of a lake with mountains in the background. It was taken at twilight. I was so beautiful and peaceful. There were probably buildings and things around the lake, but because of the lighting they were obscured.

Hmmm

I'm not gonna get my hopes up though because I can't imagine that Sportsnet would start showing tennis again and CTV has never shown tennis, at least not that I know. They don't have RDS listed though, that's weird

It was CTV that had me confused but I just figured it out..TSN shows the Rogers Cup all week and then on the weekend CTV has the coverage.

It sounds really nice where you live... If you like open spaces and no people there are hundreds of miles of mountains and waterfalls and stuff in New Zealand. It's amazing. I miss mountains back home

(In fact I'm beginning to miss fresh air and the outside altogether - but that's just because I've been stuck in an airport for approaching fourteen hours now...)

Re: The New, Hopefully Non-Slow Thread!

God. 14 hours. That's unbearable. I mean, the flight itself is long enough without all this interminable waiting. 8:30...... It's only aobout 5:30 there now...... and if they say 8:30, what are the odds that will happen?

Everyone who has been to New Zealand raves about it.

NZ is beautiful. I love going for drives through the countryside and up the mountains and stuff. and that's just the north isalnd, I'd imagine the south Isalnd to be even better.

Well I don't beleive a word these idiots tell me anymore
I'm thinking though that the other aeroplane has to come from Auckland so if it took off around the time the fault started on the plane we were supposed to be using it should be here around 8.30.... but that might just be wishful thinking....

Of course when the thing lands they'll have to refuel it and put food and all that stuff on....
and god knows if they've thought to get a pilot and crew to fly the thing

I'm sure I got weekend coverage of the Roger's on CBC last year because the night of the final ( so semi, not sure) I was baby-sitting and the tv at the hotel room was kind of screwy and only two channels were working, CBC in french and CBC in english. Both were showing tennis.

14 hours

The longest I've had to wait in an airport is 8 hours in Amsterdam due mainly to our travel agent screwing up

It's very hard to kill 8 hours when you have absolutly nothing to do

Impossible! I'm just glad I have a computer! You can't sleep because the chair is made of metal.. and anyway I don't want my bag stolen When I finally get on the plane I am going to sleep the entire way to Auckland.
