I'm sure she's delighted to have it in tip-top order once again. Desperate about their pc? Your mum and I should probably have a chat about it one day.

It's okay at the moment, but it wouldn't start for some unknown reason yesterday morning. Fortunately my brother did something and managed to get it up and running once again. Fingers crossed it carries on behaving itself...

It certainly makes a change from everyone having to listen to me wittering on about mine. It is for now, but wasn't yesterday morning when it wouldn't start for love nor money. Fortunately, one of my brothers did some jiggery pokery, which I, being a technotwit of the highest order didn't understand, which had it running withing a fairly short time thankfully.
Hopefully you are tired only. Maybe you should go to bed early tonight?
Thanks I'm well.. But not sober, I started my Martini and I need lot of effort to type as correct as possible.

Of course she is. Well she always goes negative if she gets worried about something. Thanks to my work I improved on this question and I got very very calm even if something terrible is in possibility and I focus to solutions. But my mom isn't the same

Nah So it works well now, nice to read

I thought as much. So it's somewhat of a vicious circle you find yourself in Naz. You don't expect too much in order to stave off the disappointment you'll surely feel if that higher grade is not attained. And yet if you fall short you'll be devastated anyway. Quite the conundrum. Oh yes. And apart from it being a given that you would work harder next time, your ambition almost demands it.

It's a vicious cycle indeed. But it works out well mostly. After the exam, my low expectations kind of save me from being worried so much as I've already accepted the worst outcome, which is really not getting an A for me But mostly it turns out well for me, and I end up with an A or A-. The rare exceptions only happen once in a while thankfully.

Not expecting the best also helps me keep me on track though.

That's probably all it is. And a goodnight's rest will see me right as rain tomorrow. I may very well take your advice MsD.
I'm glad to hear that you're well...You make sure you concentrate on those letters. But enjoy your martini anyway.

Ah, I see. And it is easy to always see the worst instead of seeing the situation getting better if you are a worrier. Good that your efforts have paid off here Diana. But if your mum is different, well, then it may not happen quite the same way for her.

It is. And I won't talk about it anymore in case I jinx it.

Great, you can rest normally if you go early.

I ate and I'm better now. I wasn't drunk, just not that sober.

We all can forget now, that laptop is fine finally.

For me a nice sleep soon.. Really, I slept about 4 hours only on last night. (Woke up at 8 am) Then I shouldn't be surprised if I'm that sleepy at 11 pm

As long as results are generally much more positive than negative, then probably this approach works for you. But even though you've accepted and prepared yourself for the worst case scenario, you'll still be worrying. Even if it's only a little. And pondering as to why you didn't quite get that top grade. That said, if that is the exception rather than the rule, then, you're in a pretty good position all things considered.

Oh, I don't think I'll have any problem there as I was up at 6.30am and I'll probably be asleep not too long after my head hits the pillow.

Good! You should put that on a t-shirt Diana.

So all's well that ends well.
