No, if Liverpool wins the remaining 6 games, Liverpool wins the title. One of those 6 games is against Manchester City so that would seal the deal.

Re: Football zone vol 6

To be the best player I think you have to be doing it at the top level; either World Cup or Champions League; Suarez has been phenomenal, but though the lack of opportunity is not his fault and will come soon, I can't call him the best yet. If someone has a show-stopping performance in the Champions League mid-week we'll be anointing someone else the best.

I think Lenders makes a good point about Costa; he gets the big goals that really make a difference and is arguably the single most important player.

Costa, Ronaldo, Messi, Lahm, Ribery, Ibrahimovic are all in the picture regarding the Champions League and so hey have more chance than Suarez over the next couple of months to prove themselves.

For what it's worth, I think City will win the league but would be pleasantly surprised if Liverpool manage it.

I agree with acacacacademy.

remember City can still win 24 points (if you take away the points vs Liverpool 21). City has til now played 2 matches less than Liverpool.

Liverpool fans getting ahead of themselves, nid

they still will endure one more close miss before getting over the hump ala Man U in 1992

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....

Bad loss for Chelski at Crystal Palace this weekend, great header from Terry for that OG though . Might be between City and 'Pool now, unless upsets happen.

Great results in La Liga, would love the tension if the season went down to the wire between Barca and Atletico.

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.

Crystal Palace have had a bigger impact on the title race than Man United, and they still have to welcome Liverpool and Man City to Selhurst Park.

That still doesn't matter. If Liverpool win all the remaining games (6 games) they'll have 89 points. If City win 7/8 of their remaining games (lose to Liverpool), they'll have 88 points.

Of course we got our hopes up, haven't been this close to a title for a very long time.
But I don't see how we're getting ahead of ourselves. If you ask me, I still think City is the favorite for the title.

Re: Football zone vol 6

Liverpool played pretty well today. They have played better, but Spurs were so abject that they barely had to get out second gear. Not really sure what Sherwood was thinking with regard to his approach today. He played a high-line against a bullet forward line with relatively slow central defenders (certainly when Dawson came on) yet his team did not press the ball.

A high-line without pressing against a team of Liverpool's quality is asking for trouble.

As for the title race, I think City will just edge it. Chelsea have made an arse of it, partly because of Mourinho and his safety-first mentally. To turn up at Palace with Luiz and Matic (who is overrated) in central midfield when chasing a title in the closing stages of the campaign, is pretty disappointing. Maybe instead of going to vulnerable teams like Arsenal and Man Utd with the sole intention of not losing, they may be in a better position.

Red card and penalty standard Now I actually do think they'll win the title. But there's only RM to blame for. Unreal wasting of 6 points.

Did you guys even watch the match?

Reading the match report, the calls were not controversial.

i don't blame them for first 3 but second 3 were absolutely pathetic .

yep, really nothing has change with RC@penalty combo for Barca, every decisive game this season they got it
