Absolutely disgraceful indeed.

The referee just didn't have the balls to do it. If it was a Liverpool player in the same situation he would've been sent off instantly by this pathetic ref. Or if the match was at Anfield for that matter

Re: Football zone vol 6

One of the most disgraceful dives I've ever seen from Sturridge. Absolutely no contact whatsoever from Vidic.

Pathetic this United team. I hope Olympiakos put them out of their misery on Wednesday.

Re: Football zone vol 6

Good game, well controlled by Liverpool. What's new, the defense looked rock solid as well. Vidic obviously shouldn't have been sent off, but Rafael should've gotten that 2nd yellow on at least two occasions, so I guess this is only fair. Also fair that Stevie missed that 3rd penalty.
Things are getting very interesting with Chelsea losing yesterday and City and Arsenal having tough fixtures for the rest of the season.

Moyes stay forever.

We weren't very good, really. Not that sharp, but that tells something about how bad United are now. Easy 3 points, roll on.

And I don't think our defense wasn't that good. Point blank save by Simon on Rooney, two good chances for RvP, could have been closer, but they clearly lack confidence. I still don't like the look of our three-man midfield when we're defending. But I'm not going to complain now, haha.

Re: Football zone vol 6

3-0 and it could/should've been 4 or 5. Rafael should've been sent off in the first half and United would've been chasing the game for an hour with 10 men, with Liverpool picking them off at will. Sturridge dived for the third penalty so Vidic shouldn't have been sent off, but Carrick did take away Daniel's standing leg so conceivably Liverpool could've had a 4th penalty.

Fellaini and Carrick were completely outnumbered in midfield, Mata and Januzaj didn't track back to help out Rafael or Evra, why Moyes waited until the 74th minute to make a substitution I really don't know. Perhaps if Smalling was fit he would've played alongside Vidic and Jones would've been placed in central midfield alongside Fellaini or Carrick, just for extra energy and running in the middle of the park. United's central midfield were always gonna get exposed today, just a question of how well United could defend against Sturridge, Sterling + Suarez. Playing Mata and Januzaj was a mistake since neither likes to track back that often, while Glen Johnson + Flanagan like to push forward. Van Persie was feeding off scraps and Rooney just shouted a lot.

Tactically United were extremely naive and poor, doesn't matter if the players give 150%, if they're not set up correctly in the first place they won't win the match. The players were trying today, they all looked annoyed and frustrated at the way the match was panning out, it's just they had no clue how to cope with Liverpool's superior passing, running and movement. and neither did Moyes nor Phil Neville.

Jimmy Saville would've been proud of Liverpool's performance today. I can imagine a lot of disgruntled United supporters calling for Moyes' head for such a shocking display right at the start of a crucial 2-week period; Champions of Greece are on wednesday, Big Sam's Hammers next weekend, and the Manchester derby a few days after that.

Re: Football zone vol 6

My friends know me as a guy who always has complaints on something even when we get the win, but today I really don't. Yeah we weren't sharp, but as soon as I saw starting 11 without Coutinho I thought it's obvious that Brendan wants to control the game with stronger midfield. And I liked the patience, not rushing anything knowing the chances will come.

Defense is far from perfect but much better than in many games this season. I guess I'm just happy Johnson finally played on the right side, with Flanagan on the left. Also Skrtel/Agger seem far more confident than most of other combinations that we saw this season. Toure is a good guy, but his place is on the bench.

Re: Football zone vol 6

If only Suarez is the one who takes penalties.... Ugh.
The race for the golden boot would be over already if that's the case. Cris has the same number of goals but 5 of them are PKs.

3-0 win at Old Trafford is always a good day.

Impressed with the workrate and the passion of the players today. Especially guys like Henderson and Flanagan, who had a difficult beginning to their Liverpool careers, look like proper first team players now.
