From next round on the voting period will be 24 hours.

Sorry Johnny, I know it takes a lot of work to organize this whole thing, but you were not really thinking of us, Europeans.

That seems more fair to be honest, i think 12 hours is not really fair to all international users, not even me and im an American.

Thanks very much. Yes I'm escaping the British weather for 10 days and cruising from Southampton down to Spain and Morocco and back. I'll be calling into Lisboa for the first time ever but it's only 1 day so won't see much of it. Will be thinking of you and all Portuguese posters on MTF!

I don't think he was thinking of North Americans either
Sunday night he opens the 2nd Round Top Half thread at 9:30 pm (ET -- just go with my time zone for this one), while voting in the previous round is still going on till 11 pm.

Now anyone who had already voted for the previous round (by 7:30 pm, let's say) would have assumed the next round of voting opens at 11 pm and will go to 11 am next day. Sunday night, people gotta work Monday so go to bed early, they figure they can log in at work on Monday morning and still have a chance until 11 am. So imagine you come in a little late (9:10 am) and by the time you get settled and your computer started up, emails checked, answer voicemails, it's 9:40 am and you get on here and find out you missed it!

It was lucky for me I have awful sleep habits and went on MTF late last night or I would've missed it (especially as I start work at 10 am).

Re: 2012 MTF Popularity Contest News Thread

I think all problems will be solved with 24 hour voting windows (from the next round onwards). So no need to panic anymore.

Most of the early round matches are foregone conclusions, to be honest. If the odd person can't vote, it doesn't make a huge difference.

But what if...djokovicgonzlez wasn't there? (original emphasis)
Could Johnny Groove have shown this leadership?
The Johnny Groove who voted against billions for America's intelligence, even after the first World Trade Center bombing?
The Johnny Groove who voted against 13 weapons systems our troops depend on?
djokovicgonzalez will win this war on terror.

Re: 2012 MTF Popularity Contest News Thread

George Bush ads are a sure path to victory.

Quote:
In an increasingly dangerous world...Even after the first terrorist attack on America...Johnny Groove and the liberals in Congress voted to slash MTF's intelligence operations.

By 6 billion dollars.

Cuts so deep they would have weakened MTF's defenses.

And weakness attracts those who are waiting to do MTF harm.
