no the books don't interest me at all. people that read the books haven't given me a convincing argument into why i should waste money and time in reading these books. dexter is the only series in which i watch both the show and read the books because they are totally different from each other.
plus the fantasy genre i fine personally is that very visual and atmosphere based. even though games of thrones is very political with diverse sub plots with many characters motivates unclear, the obvious scheming between characters etc. i still don't feel a novel could cover everything that going on the tv show that well.
Well, I've never watched Game of Thrones (planning on doing so when I get the time) but I've read all the published novels, and do you know what my feeling is before I watch the TV show?
How are they possibly going to represent the political aspects and maintain the brutal nature that George R.R. Martin defined in his marvellous narrative.
Whichever medium you use first, TV show or novel, usually means you have a negative view of the other form, because the first time you're introduced to something, it leaves the biggest impression and forms the criteria that you judge it on.
