You should probably not share that kind of info if you want people to keep playing this game.
I don't understand any of the formulas y'all keep posting and I don't understand how it's better to pick people who will lose in their first or second match over people who are likely to go all the way.
I only picked 2 players for Memphis.
I'm on my phone now so the explanation here will be as shot as possible
The thing you quoted mean...
In Memphis If you picked those 8 players you'd be guarantees 290 points. Bogomolov plays russel winner gets 45 points, since you had both you get 45 points. Same for the other 3 matches. So 4x45 is 180.
Then Bogomolov/Russell plays Harrison/kubot, winner gets 45 more points(they had 45 for round 1 they get 90). Same for the other match in te bottom quarter haas/Donskoy v. Lopez/Becker. So 2x45 is 90. Add that to the 180 first round points you have 270. Bogomolov ha 20 points from qualifying so its 290, and actually I forgot but Russell is a LL so that's maybe 12? More points so 302.
Then any points that your 2 quarter finalists get after that is bonus but you're guaranteed at least 302.
I'm not saying this is a wise strategy, I prefer to pick players who aren't playing each other, but its a wiser ate they than picking Ferrer because Ferrer costs more than those 8 players combined and he will earn less guaranteed.
The reason most people are loading up on Memphia players is because its a 500 event, but most importantly its a very very weak 500 event, the players in marseille will cost more than those in Memphis and will earn less. BA costs about te same but will earn less.
A non seed in Memphis who wins 1 match will earn 45 points. Said player may cost say maybe 800 of your budget. A seed who wins 2 matches in marseille say Simon wil earn 45 points, same as the Memphis non seed but will cost way way more.
Basically Memphis earns more as its a 500 and the players cost less
