Weird in the point that Pep doesn't speak German and I know nowadays Germans also play technically but they don't own the technique for his style of play. Plus he has Ribery and Robben on the wings which are individualists. I think Bayern is a great club as well and I hope he will succeed.

You did, just trying to understand why you found it weird. While I agree Pep will have some work to do to impose his ideas, I think it will be easier at Bayern than any other club, they already value possession and attacking football more than any club apart from Barca imo.

And I agree that it will be very interesting to see how he teaches (or fails to teach) Robben to pass the ball Pep vs Klopp should be a fascinating duel if Klopp stays at Dortmund.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

convinced Pep and Mourinho are only interested in one job in England and thats the world's greatest club and greatest British institution, Manchester United

and Sir purple beak will decide who gets that when he gets tired of it.

Re: Football Zone

I don't think this will work out like some people think it will. He will have very good players at his disposal, but nobody as good as Messi or Iniesta to get them out of jail.

We're finally going to see how good a manger he is, in a slightly more open league where it isn't just two teams dominating. Although, Bayern could run away with the Bundesliga this season, ironically.

Re: Football Zone

Barca draw with Malaga at home in the Copa. Some stupid defensive mistakes cost Barca there, though I hope they can win at Malaga so they'll progress, would like them to take the La Liga + Copa double...

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Re: Football Zone

Pep's picked the right club. A club with a philosophy engrained in it, young players with talent and application and a place he can help develop them. It's so very Pep, and an admirable move. Why should he go to Abramovich's circus where they have no particular philosophy, just buy players with a chequebook. Same with City although without the trigger button.

He's going to the best league as well- Bundesliga right now is the place to be. Even David Moyes said after Everton he'd love to go there.

Valdes tells Barcelona he will not renew his contract

The Blaugrana goalkeeper has told the club he plans to leave at the end of his current deal, after recently expressing his desire to experience "other cultures"

Victor Valdes has informed Barcelona he will not renew his contract when it expires in 2014, according to the player's representatives.

Camp Nou chiefs held talks with agents of the Spain international on Thursday and the Catalan club had hoped to persuade the goalkeeper to extend his lifelong association with the club.

However, it now appears certain the 31-year-old will leave at the end of next season following the release of a statement on Thursday evening.

"Victor Valdes' agents have told Barcelona, in the meeting held this afternoon, of the irrevocable decision from the player not to renew his contract, thus avoiding discussing future wage issues," his representatives told Spanish news agency EFE.

Valdes' contract expires on June 30, 2014, and he could well make a move away from La Liga after recently expressing his desire to experience "other cultures".

The Blaugrana are yet to comment on the news, with a pre-match press conference due to be held on Friday ahead of their clash with Real Sociedad on Saturday.

Re: Football Zone

If Barca is smart, they will snap up Courtois before Chelsea becomes aware just how much of a gem he is. Terrific goalie, most clean sheets in the Primera Division and he´s only 20 to boot.

Valdes leaving? He was never Barca first team material.
Now I only wish we get a decent goalie and not just put Pinto in Valdes' place.

Yeah but I think it's an unrealistic transfer. We need 2 GK's anyway since Pinto is already 37.
Oier Olazábal hasn't developed in a good way in my opinion, maybe there is still time for Miguel Bañuz to break through but I don't think he is #1 material either.

Best choices are Muslera, Guaita or De Gea (if Man Utd is willing to let him go).

Contract expires in 2014, so if we want to get some money for him we need to sell this summer. (doubt there will be a club who is willing to pay for him though).

Pinto is already 37, 38 when it's 2014 mate. Not gonna happen. I really hope they are going to buy Guaita and put Bañuz/Olazábal/Masip as backup.
