Last season all over again; only this time the only miracle will be winning Europa League. I'd like to think this is the low point but we've already proven things can sink from disaster to catastrophe in this kind of shambolic form. Man Shity will dance all over us this weekend. After that, we need to get on a roll otherwise RDM will be joining AVB at Tottenham.
Going all in on Torres was a huge mistake. Obviously they will have to rectify that in the winter but the season could be over by then in terms of Premier League and CL.

That I said I wouldn't be surprised if Shakhtar beat Juve in Donetsk. I expect Juve get a result but I don't think Shakhtar will lay down and give it to them.

Re: Football Zone

Di Matteo sacked, never in doubt this would happen. Abramovich loves sacking managers more than he does money.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

If Shakhtar have any brains they'll rest half their team. Winning the group doesn't guarantee easier 2nd round opposition and it's never worth risking injuries/suspensions. Again, I don't see how Juventus can possibly screw this up.

OMFG. I'm finding this out from you AJ. This must have happened literally in the last few minutes.

Rafa Benitez is already being linked.

Re: Football Zone

I'm a little torn. I love RDM but clearly he didn't know how to sort out our defensive mess or get the front men working together.

Very depressing times. Everyone here at the club really wanted RDM to succeed long term. He'll always be remembered as the man who brought us the glory days back in 1997 and our most memorable night of all time in 2012.

Re: Football Zone

Di Matteo has been treated like shit. This is just like when del Bosque after Real Madrid won the Champs League.

Wins FA Cup/Champs League and they couldn't let him see out the season that is poor, especially when QPR still has Mark Hughes.

Abramovich is the poor man's Jesus Gil.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Football Zone

Everyone is treated like shit in this game. It's a harsh impatient world where results are all that count.

I'm a little surprised Hughes is still going but I suspect they're waiting until after they lose to Man U this weekend.

Re: Football Zone

Not everyone is treated like crap. Fact is Abramovich has more money than sense, can't build anything substantial if you're firing coaches every year.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

If they take Benitez, they will go back to their defensive style.

Redknapp will never win you a PL title, thats for sure.

Its a lose-lose sitauation.

Re: Football Zone

The biggest mistakes were made long ago. Ranieri, Mourinho and Ancelotti were all sacked after substantial progress and success. And I'll never get over sacking Ray Wilkins during a purple patch with absolutely no consultation with Ancelotti. That was by far the worst of them all.

This decision on the other hand is hardly surprising. RDM was always meant to be temporary. He delivered a miracle last May which put him in an untouchable position but it only bought him time. It's very harsh and I hate that it's come to this but Roman was clearly anxious to get an experienced man back in the job, which clearly we need right now.

Re: Football Zone

Di Matteo should have seen out the season, then moved from there.

Chelsea get mocked and rightly so for the managerial merry go round. You don't build a house without foundations, can't build any long lasting legacy without stability within the managerial ranks. Since Mr.Oil took over this hasn't happened.

Benitez he will cry about a lack of money and marganilise the black players.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I'd prefer Rednknapp, he has the most EPL experience and any manager that gets Tottenham into the top 4 with their players can certainly take the title with ours. That being said, at least Benitez would get Torres scoring again and he obviously has far more European experience.

Re: Football Zone

AJ, you're living in an ideal world. People who take the job at Chelsea know what they're getting into. Dealing with the highest of pressures and expectations is part of the challenge and it's not like they don't get paid a ton to do it. AVB and RDM will both be fine, just like all our other ex-managers. No-one who's been involved with Chelsea is worse off after experiencing Mr Oil.

Highest pressures what more than Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Man United, Bayern Munich and you know the other properly established big clubs in Europe. You are taking the piss if you think Chelsea are at that level. What do Chelski actually have or stand for, with all those clubs I mentioned as much as I hate them. You know what identity they have, what style of football they play. at Cheslea there is none of that.

Sacking managers every season is a joke that is the stuff of a village club not one that thinks it's a big club.

Don't even understand what you're trying to argue. Only the traditional big clubs of Europe have the right to pressure managers? Everyone else should know their place and accept it.

The game moves on. The old giants Man U, Liverpool, Bayern, Real Madrid don't monopolize anymore. Man City, Shakhtar and Paris SG are rising up.

This isn't even about RDM. You're just having a general rant about impatience at Chelsea.
