Re: Football Zone

It was an awesome goal but Zlatan is often slated for not doing it against great sides in big games, and England aren't even a good side never mind great.

England are a decent international side although miles behind the top few teams. Top eight in the rankings is legit. The main problem is having an average mid-table manager who will not get out of his negative mindset in any game that counts.

Sharawi is better than Pato and Pazzini combined.

Re: Football Zone

England are the epitome of the team that think they're big, but aren't.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Football Zone

The Argentine strike force of Kun and Tevez scored a brace each and City finally had a dominant performance to destroy Villa 5-0. City now has the highest goal differential in the EPL. If Man U draws, we'll be top of the table.

Re: Football Zone

Disappointing and fragmented performance from Arsenal, if Spurs had kept eleven men on the pitch, they were on for a big win.

AVB got it tactically wrong, and committed too many men forward in the second half. So we were flattered by the five goal total.

Adebayor won it for Arsenal, for sure. Once a gooner, always a gooner.

Re: Football Zone

Marchetti saved the day, thankfully. Juventus were good, Lazio okay, but the goalkeeper was incredible.

Delighted with a point.

Valencia and Leverkusen are making me happy, too.

Re: Football Zone

Jordan Rhodes the goal machine .

Blackburn winning so comfortably and both Burnley and Man Utd losing was the perfect possible outcome in English football for me today.

Wow, I had to strain my eyes after not seeing Charlie Austin on the scoresheet for Burnley today.

He has been lethal in front of goal since he we signed him. Despite what we paid for him he has looked like absolute bargain so far.

The Championship is crazy in that one or two wins or defeats here and there can see a team rise or fall so many places. Such an exciting league though. Hopefully we can begin to consolidate our position in the play-off places over the next few weeks.

Roll on December 2nd. I cannot wait for derby day.

Good to see a team finally not choke a victory against ManU.
