Re: Football Zone

As central defenders, both Thiago Silva and Chiellini are better than Ramos IMO.

Switching to mercato news, has anyone seen Paul Pogba play? I've only watched a few short clips of him and also read some, really seems to be a promising one. United fans seem to be pissed about it! He's got a lot of players ahead of him though, hopefully he'll get enough chances to play and at least show his value in the field. Lately, Juve's way of behaviour with the coming players is too strict IMO. It's like if you don't perform rapidly in the first few games, you're quickly thrown into the blacklist and gone. Elia is a perfect example! Some patience would be appreciated with a 19-year old prospect.

I am by no means Spanish, but I don 't understand all the hate they get? They play nice-ish football, yes it can be a bit tedious at times, and seem to be a good-spirited bunch.

I feel bad for Milan fans:

Dal sito ufficiale del Milan, addì 14 giugno 2012, comunicato della società:

"Silvio Berlusconi, il nostro presidente, ha deciso: "Thiago Silva resta al Milan!"

Newcastle have a loan approach for Carroll rejected

Liverpool pinning their hopes on Milan to buy Carroll then

Not going to happen.

Last year we sent a B-team to the U-20 for some reason, people like Aurtenetxe, Muniain, Rubén Pardo, Tello should have gone but they were playing the U-21 & U-19 Euros, for some reason the federation focussed in that

Also, we sent the babies out here in the U-19, Kepa is 17 like Oliver Torres & Saul Ñíguez, Grimaldo is 16...

Now if we win the Olympic Gold...

Re: Football Zone

Carroll returning to Newcastle - at least on a temporary basis - is looking more and more likely. Good move by the Geordies.

Re: Football Zone

Watching a documentary on football racism, here in England. It's on BBC3, and Clarke Carlisle is heading it. Really good watch, and so sad and tragic to think how idiotic our football fandom is.

It's not football itself that's the problem. Football's a part of the society, so if you want to stamp it out of football then focus on the wider society first.

Football is widely documented though. If you start with football, people will notice, and then maybe it can change elsewhere.

But it won't ever fully go, there will always be idiots.
