Who else is going to come up and dethrone him out of the top 5?

Connors and Agassi were winning titles at 37 and 35. Federer's style is geared toward longevity. And he is no less a player than either one of those two.

He'll retire when he decides the time is right. Probably none of us, including he, can predict that with certainty.

ok but 4 years is a lot of time .You dont know how the body will behave in that time he also doesnt look like a player who will play if he is out of the top 10 or doesnt believe he can win a slam

Federer: Wimbledon, Olympics main goals
Ticker - Thursday, April 26, 2012

Roger Federer tells Blick that his two biggest goals this year are winning Wimbledon for the seventh time, and the Olympic singles gold medal for the first time.

"Wimbledon is always ultra important for me. There, my idols—Becker, Edberg and Sampras—won more than 10 times combined. There I won the juniors for the first time. We know the rest. The Sampras win, my first [great] Grand Slam victory. Wimbledon is special. A few weeks later that we have the opportunity to play at Wimbledon again for medals, which is an incredible chance for our generation. Between Wimbledon and the Olympics at Wimbledon, I have no preference. Both are equally important to me."

The 31-year-old added that the London Olympics might not be his last and that "it is not inconceivable in 2016 to play again in Rio."
Doesn't surprise me in the least given his appetite for the game, and the knowledge that even at nigh on 33 when the games fall, he'll probably still be better than most and have a decent chance there.

Real men have singlehanded backhands.
