Re: - * Swiss Chalet * -

Hi Eva!

Yeah, I couldn't reply to Doris in the old thread. LMFAO Roger writing on her LEG cast!
At least that's memories for life.

Edit: Oh and I forgot to reply about Rafa's 'biography', yes of course I read it immediately I got it, pre-ordered from Amazon as soon as I could. I'm a fangirl after all.
Well there wasn't anything that spectacular, if you don't consider his uncle being a child abuser shocking. Don't know if it's for hatas like you though. Just more personal stuff from Rafa and about people around Rafa and his most memorable GS final matches.
Btw I told you they had translated the latest Roger's book by Chris Bowers into Estonian and I got it as a gift for Valentine's Day. I've read 50 pages so far from the 300+. I haven't ordered or read any Roger books in English/German/French from Amazon but well this one I couldn't really refuse now could I. I guess we have enough Fedtards in Estonia.

Thanks for opening the new thread Eva

I'm offering some Swiss chocolate

Regarding your last post in the old thread:

Well, Hannover airport is not that far away from Halle

From Hannover to Bielefeld is about 50 minutes by train and the train from Bielefeld to Halle takes about 30 minutes.

I'm not a hater

What I have heard about the book so far sounds interesting and therefore I'm curious to read it.

I remember that you mentioned that this book would be translated into Estonian. I have the book as well but haven't read it so far as it takes me quite a while to read books in English and I always have so many books to read for work anyway.

I really liked "Quest for perfection" by René Stauffer. (Well, I read the German version which is called "Das Tennisgenie"...)

Do you consider to write a biography about Marat?

Duncan your videos are awesome. I wish you could have gotten a pic with Rog. I saw you wrote you said a couple of words to him. At least you got to do that. I think he will win Dubai this week. At least I hope!

Well this Rafa's book was easy to read for me in English. Took me one weekend or so.

Chris Bowers also mentions (and praises) this and some other books about Roger as reference he has used.

LMFAO I contributed to the best Safin fansite when he was playing and one American journalist quoted us as the best source for Safin info. OK I didn't faint but had a good hard laugh and immediately e-mailed the others. Needless to say the journalist was right, of course we were the ultimate source of info on Safin. I used to collect everything about Safin, I surely know more than any average journalist but writing a book - no thanks.

Exactly. How many fans won't ever be able to do this at all?

By the way, as a fellow a-ha fan it might be interesting for you that Morten is going to release a solo-album soon. You can find some of his new songs on youtube

Thanks

I went to the doctor today, spend 6 hours in the waiting room just that the doctor had a look on the foot for 2 minutes

I'm certified unfit for work for 2 more weeks. Hopefully I won't have to go back to the doctor again

When did you became a fan of Marat? Was he the one who got you interested in tennis?

Have you ever been able to see him play live by the way?

I think I only saw him live once. It was in Hamburg in 2007 when I went to my first tournament. He played late in the evening against Ferrero. There were not that many people in the stadion anymore and we were allowed to go down in the stands.
It was so cold and we just wanted to go to the hotel. But they played a really long tiebreak and it was already past midnight when Juan Carlos won 6:3 7:6 (15).
He had to play against Roger in the next round then.
