I'll have something to say about that.
I'm sure we would have a good match...
I am sure we would. I would not take you lightly. I will be sure to pound you into submission.
Then we will play a tennis match
I've just checked Johnny's results. If he's struggling (i.e. getting double bagelled) in 4.5 tournaments, then I reckon I could give him a decent match.
All my 4.5 matches of late have been ridiculous losses:
1. Johnny Groove vs. Dennis Oliviera, 9/7/13 in Weston. I won the first set 6-4, had chances to get the break in the 2nd, lost a 7 deuce game to lose the break, ended up losing 10-2 in 3rd set supertiebreaker
2. Johnny Groove vs. Mario Rodriguez, 8/31/13 in Sunrise. I had 5-5, a chance to BP to serve for set, couldn't get it done, this one was relatively tame.
3. Johnny Groove vs. Khalid Nahro, 4/27/13 in Boca. This was the worst. I was cruising, 6-0 in the first set, again I had 4 chances in 2 serve games to get the break, didn't get it, ended up losing
4. Johnny Groove vs. 4/6/13 in Plantation, this was even worse. This was the biggest choke of my career, I won the first set 6-3, had 3 MP when he serves at 4-5 in the 2nd, miss 2 returns, and change my mind on a drop shot return, instead of going down the line, I go back CC and he hits into open court. I end up losing set, then I have 4-2, 40-15 in the 3rd, choke that one away, and smashed a spare racquet to smithereens after the match.
Not to mention a 5.0 match vs. Scott Wolff in Sunrise on March 23, when I had 4-3 serving, and also 5-4 serving, 40-30, DF, I end up losing 5-7, 2-6, I also had 2-1 with break in 2nd set.
Not to also mention my practice match loss vs. Akash Israni, my boy, who had won a handful of 4.5 titles this past spring. I won 6-3 the first, lost 0-6 the second, ended up losing 10-6 in the 3rd set breaker.
So in the 4.5, I should have multiple titles already if not for my ridiculous choking.
Johnny Groove "doesn't need coaching"?
Guess all those pros must be doing something wrong then.
My coach, when I had one, even told me himself. "Johnny, what you need, I can't give you". "Well, what do I need?" "Experience."
Even when I've gone back to him, he has said to me that I have the shots, it is all about playing tournaments and getting experience and eventually results. Remember I didn't start playing until 15. I have played only like 20 tournaments my entire career, juniors, college, and now.
Groove, can you beat a Colorado high school state quarter-finalist?
Not sure, have never faced one. Every opponent is difficult, will be a tough match, no?
