Re: Johnny Groove retires from tennis

I have to confess I wasn't expecting this so soon. I thought you would get a few more double bagels and retire in May or June.

I have huge regrets I never saw you play live. But your service motion will always be in my heart forever. Your passion for the game was admirable (except for in that one moment which shall remain unnamed ), your trolling abilities legendary, your refusal to pick up hot girls from a pizza delivery stupendous.

Best of luck on your acting career

We gonna see what's goin on. Keep updating this thread on your life if you want to.

Re: Johnny Groove retires from tennis

I know I said the other day that you should retire, and I still believe you should, but why not give it one last crack in the upcoming Florida futures. Do you want your last match to be getting bageled by a 4.0 player?

Horacio Zeballos - Maximo Gonzalez - Eduardo Schwank - Carlos Berlocq - Diego Schwartzman - Facundo Bagnis - all the other Argentinos

Johnny just get out on the courts every once and a while and just stick with grad school. Also put that motivation tennis motivations towards grad school

Re: Johnny Groove retires from tennis

I'm relatively new to MTF so I haven't been following Groove's career, but I've enjoyed reading through old threads about the ups and downs of life as a pro player. And I have a few things to say.

Johnny, even though you never made it big, the important thing to remember is that you followed your dream. That takes a lot of balls for someone to do, and it requires a lot of sacrifice. Many people in this world forgo opportunities to do what makes them happy in favor of something that pays more or is a steadier source of income, but you didn't. You had the courage and the willpower to venture out on your own path, and you persevered through obstacle after obstacle in order to do what you truly enjoy doing.

That's something special. It really is.

Never support a pusher. Never cheer for errors. Applaud good tennis.

Very nicely said. A matured comment.

I would also like to add, when one follows one's passion and tries out something unusual unlike the guy next door generally does or the guys in the neighborhood generally do, and when it does not work out, one should also be flexible enough to make amends. That's what all successful people, who venture out of ordinary, do; they take calculated risks. When it does not work out, they make changes or stop it and venture into something else.

9-2 9-4 7-2 Now, who's the GOAT?

Re: Johnny Groove retires from tennis

I think you said you reached inside the top 200 in the state, so you went out there and did accomplish something. In the future, why not get into umpiring? Who here wouldn't love the opportunity to call a time violation - or a penalty - on their players of choice?

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Epic movies, like brokeback mountain, are seldom found in the industry or worthy for the mainstream viewer. As often as I have watched the clips of this movie, I always find something more to it. For one, the gay stuff doesn't enter the picture for me, only the dimension of the highest love I have ever witnessed in life or on film.

We all know Groove will make an epic comeback next week in an attempt to win the comeback player of the year award.

With all due respect, but you fail to understand how bad Johnny exactly was. He had literally 0% of succeeding, to ever get a ranking even.

Hopefully when someone in your family attempts something similar you try to stop it instead of encouraging it.
