Re: Football Zone

Just one thing, van Persie in my opinion knew the play was stopped, just look at his attempt. No way he would've shot like that if he knew he was onside.

Harsh, but van Persie should've known better.

What did van Persie not hear the whistle or something? It's always easy to blame the ref, but how many shots did Arsenal have on goal, a whole lot of 0.

What penalty? Messi dived.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

oh, i think van persie probably heard, but it was a harsh decision. a justifiable decision, sure, but a harsh one.
messi didnt dive...even the ex-arsenal commentary team were sure it was a penalty, which it was.

and of course arsenal didnt deserve to win, whatever happened. 0 shots on target and completely outplayed for the whole match, not just up until the red card, etc.

How was it harsh then? You kick the ball away after the whistle has blown for being offside is a yellow card, far from harsh.

Barca, dive and cheat like all big sides.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

it was harsh because it wasn't blatant. it wasn't crystal clear that he knew play had stopped and he was also on a booking, so referees are more lenient. players are rarely booked for kicking the ball away unless it is blatant, and even more so when they are on a yellow. letter of the law, then sure, its justified, but 9 times out of 10 he wouldnt have been booked.

and whether barca dive and cheat is irrelevant.....and i don't think whether a side is big or small matters much. people dive and cheat in the crappy little league i play in. i don't dispute that. but for me, it was a clear penalty tonight.

Re: Football Zone

Chris, about the penalty thing, you do realise I'm joking. Deserved yellow for van Parsie as Milan said.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Football Zone

Howard Webb proves what a fine ref he is by missing De Rossi giving Srna a huge elbow to the face. Perhaps just like the van Bommel and de Jong shit at the WC final which he did see. He wanted the game to flow, luckily it didn't impact on the result.

He must have something on the powers of the FA, UEFA and FIFA, well he is a policeman.

WG, you only post here to annoy me

De Rossi is a streetfighter trapped in a footballer's body - or else he needs to be playing for Stoke
