Re: •°o*Ye Olde Castle vol.25

Can Murray emulate John Lloyd who reached final in 1977 losing in 5 sets.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977_Au...en%27s_Singles

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

It's just sad, in my opinion.

Anyway, to tennis, Murray all the way Since Roger reached 15, I'm now rooting for Murray, but I'll be happy with either winning, provided it's a good match.

I like Cilic too, but I want Murray to get his first slam. I'm nervous about today's match.

Some greetings from the Briancon - Chantemerle - Serre Chevalier skiing trails. All's fine over here - I'm doing well and it's funny to notice that once you've learned to do it well, you never forget how to ski. Kinda like swimming really.

As you can see, gorgeous snow, lovely weather, great atmosphere. There's just one 'problem' - it's bitter cold. Some -15 degrees C at about 3000 meters, and yes that is COLD, especially as it's rather windy as well (le Mistral coming up, yep). I now well remember why I usually go skiing in March!

And know what? There's even a tennis NUTTER spotted at a mountain restaurant where there's wifi available for free, who carried up her netbook in her backpack - just to be able to follow the scores of a certain match...

Let's just say I wasn't happy with those scores I was watching there AT ALL.
Sh*t, Rafa, NOT THOSE BLODDY KNEES AGAIN.... nooooooooooooo!!!!
(I'll spare you my thoughts on this matter right now - so NOT )

Oh and today I went out with a nice group of folks to visit another skiing area - Montgenevre, part of the Sestriere-area (of Turin Olympics fame), and WOW!!!

The off-piste/free rider-skier's wet dream-in-solid-form. The best slope-grooming you can think of, namely, none at all. All pure fresh powder snow. Gorgeous.

And wow our guide! A lovely tall young guy, long blonde hair, dark eyes and eyebrows, excellent skier, a real friendly fellow who showed us all of the nice spots along the area. It surely wasn't a punishment to follow him to say the least, LOL. :

these pics are phenomenal karin. keep them coming.

i think the answer may be that its basically a sport for the relatively wealthy. you also need top flight facilities and coaching. there are very few junior development programs is some of these countries. all these are factors.

govt. funding is available for other sports in countries like china. they spend a bundle on developing opympic athletes.

MEN SUCK!!!!

Good afternoon, Castle.

If I could be anything other what I am, I'd want it tomorrow. If I could be what my father wants me to be, then maybe I could stay for that too. If I could be what you want me to be, I'd want to stay. But I am what I am, and all I want is freedom.

Mimi, you want Cilic to win because you find Murray ugly? Is that what you mean?
