Us men, never grow up. Our taste in women grows with age and our toys only get bigger and more expensive. In the heart we are still little boys who once teased girls and played toy soldiers. Classmates were replaced by exotic women to be teased even more, and toy soldiers were replaced by expensive toys, some of which cost $8 million a piece.
Best $8 Million Marketing Dollars Ever Spent
There are no plans to produce more Exeleros, making it the only one of its kind.
The best form of marketing is word of mouth marketing. Viral marketing - the “buzz” of the latest years - relies on word of mouth to spread the message across the community from early adopters, to the masses. Apple, PS3, Halo (Xbox360) relied on viral elements of their products (fueled by more advertising) to spread their messages across people’s minds. Google - the largest search engine - did not advertise, yet it’s brand spread across through the word of mouth making it dominant.
I believe Exelero was an attempt to:
1.Set ULTRA luxurious and lavish image for Maybach brand
2.Spread that image naturally throughout communities.
Though the production of the car cost $8,000,000, one can look at the investment as a marketing move more than anything else. It sent the message to luxury car lovers - Maybach is the brand that has the power of Ferrari and luxury of Rolls Roys.
