affirmative, I actualy want Kohli to make it through, the more Fed is tested as he go through the better, so he can be sharp in the final round

The thing is (not that I don't respect Roger) but he isnt playing any better. Everyone else at the moment is injured or playing like a muppet (yes Nole that means you). I suppose credit to him for always peaking for the slams. His record is immense.

But I want someone to play him with proper fast attacking grass court tennis. Bring on the net play and the lobs and brilliant passes. Is that too much to ask. I've seen some good matches but the only person that to me appeared to have adapted their game to grass out of all people was Gilles bloody Simon and he isn't going to win is he.

This wimbledon is a bit boring really I feel disappointed. Really missing the Gasquets and Ancics of the world. I'm missing it that much I'm even hoping someone like Berdych can create a few upsets (and I can't stand him).

so we have 5 solid drinkers.

We could start the 5th slam!

well that depends on how well he returns serve. Fed is more dominant on his serve at Wimby than anybody who has ever played the game.

only exception is the clay monster at the last wimbledon. his stats were a little better that Fed`s in the serving department if you take all 7 matches into account.

if you cant break him, you cant beat him.

Kohli 4-1 up. Looks like we've got another 5 setter on our hands.

Roger Federer. Legend.

True.

You need a Haas like player, with more speed, to give Federer a hard time on grass, now that Nadal is not playing.

But these players have to go for there shots, which is easy to say, but hard to do.

I think Toad's French Open Final was a fluke.

Similar to Baghdatis when he made the AO final. But I'd say Baggy has more talent than toad.

I hear you, and even though I'm a huge Fed fan, I also want to see great contests and great tennis, but worry not, close matches starts from QF, and Fed has the hardest draw possible in this Wimbly, you really can't make a harder draw for Fed on paper.

bottom line is this: they just about all serve fairly big on grass.

take 2008:

we had the fewest breaks of serve there in 2008 since 1991. this is right. this is not a mistake.

so basically in order to win, you have to break. even in a tiebreaker, you need a mini break.

borg, to this day, attributes his 5 titles at wimby to his improved return of serve.

you simply must be able to break or you are not going to win. this is why guys like Murray have and Djokovic have had some success against Fed on quicker courts. they were able take care of their own serve and in addition to that, they were able to break here and there.

i believe that Murray now has the best return of serve in the game on quicker courts. he could challenge Fed but he has to get to the final first or its just not happening for him obviously.
