To this day, I don't see how these guys hit that heavy western grip FH without tearing something lose. It amazes me.. As you know, I'm so old school it's pathetic with technique. Cont BH, Volley, and serve, semi eastern on the FH. Whatever works, right. People learning should try it all, and settle into their natural comfort zone.
I figured so much.
I was taught all of them, but advised to take the western cause it's hard to master but if you do it it's killer on clay, but never felt comfortable with it, so I switched to a semi-eastern and then full eastern and my fh went from terrible to bad. Took an eastern bh instantly when I changed and I'm very happy. Every time I hit one dtl and see the other guy stand there staring powerless I get the goosebumps and think "yeah J, this just made your day".
Sorry about the bragging...
What I will never understand is how some players can hit the serve and especially volleys not using a cont.
And rest assured Nadine I want to film myself too!
