Hi there, Castle!
New thread so I see.
Well eh. What a day it was.
I just watched a summary pf the Toad-Rafke match on Belgian TV... euh yeah, what is there to say?
Raf was sub-par, but moreover - Söderling played the match of his life, not unlike Kohlschreiber yesterday. All credits to him, for his attacking game, and most of all - for keeping his cool. That fellow was ICE COLD indeed!
It must be a bitter disappointment for Rafa, but as he said himself - every
player is bound to lose at a certain point. If anything, I hope for him to bounce back soon, and IF he is suffering some physical discomfort, I hope he now gets enough time to let it heal and come back for the grass season in full strength.
I also hope that some of those ridiculous trolls in GM have now experienced how it's like to be forced to eat a bit of Humble Pie.
Rafa is, after all, just a human being, like all players - not a 'superman' or whatever... he'll be back anyways.
I haven't looked at GM, and I guess I won't until tomorrow at least. I guess the place is HORRID once again, with the haters celebrating all around because of a certain player's loss. Don't wanna see anything of that.
I guess many people will now conclude that it's now Roger's big chance to take the title, here. Let me just say that I don't know if Rafa's loss actually improves his chances. The pressure set on him right now much be HUGE, much more than if Rafa were still in the tournament. And he's not there yet either... plenty of players have been playing very well at RG so far, and I have still yet to see Roger make the final. So in all, I hope the Roger-fans (or Rafa-haters
) will not get overenthusiastic as of yet. It's still a very long way to go...
Damn, I wanted a Fedal final here. Nope, not happening. Strange idea, to know that it's Rafke spoiling the party this time, especially on clay...
