(Great thread idea, Karin. And yes, the above song happens to be one of the tracks from my signature, which I put together earlier today. Good timing for this sort of topic.)
Yea i totally forgot to mention these guys. Blood Mountain is an awesome album. The Leviathan album is also brilliant.

But Karin You know I'm a total technophobe and couldn't post anything from YouTube to save my life But you also know how much I adore Genesis, Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd etc. So thoroughly enjoyed everything here - thanks for starting this thread

More Pink Floyd (hey it´s my username for a reason!), the awsome Echoes, from the Meddle album. This one was recorded live in Pompeii in front of...no audience! Awsome video and experimental Floyd at its best:

Not really into proper prog but I like some of the modern prog-influenced metal bands. Neurosis, Isis, Intronaut, Cult of Luna etc...

Some cool instrumental bands like The Redneck Manifesto and Explosions in the Sky are heavily influnced by prog too.

Hi, everyone. Im not much of a prog fan myself either, though I do like Yes, Deep Purple, Theather, PF, and the little I heard of Liquid Tension Experiment. I'm here to learn mostly
Hearing The Gates of Delirium right now to get in the zone.

Re: Stupid Dream's PROG ROCK thread!

Hi Folks!

Very nice to see this thread going places... - thanks for all your great contributions!

My contribution for now: a review of the fantastic Symforce II Festival I visited past Saturday at Tilburg's 013-venue, with 12 prog bands performing, among them Pain Of Salvation and Opeth, over here: http://solarfallsrealm.livejournal.com/268599.html.

Enjoy!

PS: I am rather critical in my reviews.

One of my all time fav's, Danny Cavanagh & Anneke van Giersbergen performing Massive Attack's Teardrops, at Tilburg's Little Devil venue, January this year:

Pink Floyd Reunion 25 years later.

All the fighting, all the hate, forgotten for one magestic performance. They've been talking more to each other ever since:

Well... I still don't think Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters get on very well together...

Gilmour has stated that they are on "amicable" terms.

They don't have many things in common to be granted, but that hate they hated for each other in the late 80's is gone.

Waters and Mason are now friends again.
