Riverside's most beautiful:

"But if you lose your faith, do know, I'm still your friend..."

And then there are certain IDIOTS who claim that 'progrock is dead' :retard:

I don't think so.

"It's getting colder, I'm getting colder, older, it's getting colder...

Am I still here? As one, with The Fear?
Am I still alive? I'm still f*cking ... Here...!"

There's no band that resembles Rush here because they're not prog.

Next.

I totally disagree. Have you listened to A Farewell to Kings, Permanent Waves and Hemispheres, not forgetting the fantastic Moving Pictures?

But if they're not prog, what are they then?

Hard rock with slight progressive inclinations.

They're the power trio version of Deep Purple/Rainbow.

Gu, I know how much of a lover of the old Yes/Genesis/ etc. you are, and indeed, those are true classics.

That just does not mean that nowadays there isn't any decent progrock anymore. Rather the contrary.

I'll be seeing RUSH live coming May...
Promised that they'll play ALL of Moving Pictures, WOW!

Re: Bonnie the Cat's, formerly know as Stupid Dream - PROG ROCK thread!

I saw them 3 times on their last tour (for Snakes and Arrows), including a last-minute decision to see them at Madison Square Garden. Incredible every time.

I'm not going this time however

Well I am, if only for THIS:

x 1000.

They're good records, all right.

They're not progressive rock records, though. Sorry. That's stretching things absurdly. Next thing you know, Rainbow is prog rock (and they do have a more credible claim to being progressive rock).

Rush is known for stating in a DVD that they changed their music because, by that record before Moving Pictures, their songs were gettin' "too difficult to play". That's accepting mediocrity, sorry.

In fact there isn't progressive rock nowadays. There's neoprog, though.

Have you listened to:

Karn Evil 9, Tarkus
Close To The Edge, Relayer
Selling England By The Pound, Nursery Cryme
Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Red
U.K.

That should tell you enough about what's really progressive rock.

Your opinion, but I think it's a rather sad one.
So there's no genuine prog-rock around anymore?

Do you want me to summ up all of the great proggy bands that I've discovered the past five years or so?
Do you have a week or so?

You're asking me if I've ever tasted beer, or such?
