Some people would rather eat Kentucky Fried Chicken instead of caviar as well...let it go. It's a futile battle.

Re: Last Movie you watched, and what you thought about it?

Sunset unlimited.

Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson knock one out of the park. Should be seen by all but will probably be avoided by those who try to avoid the sad things in life; too heavy and probably inaccessible, but, keepin' it real like Snoop Dogg. Life is not pretty for some, they sadly long for the comfort of oblivion. Wonder if this hits home for Tommy Lee Jones after his grumpy demeanour at the oscars. Doesn't seem so funny now.

Black Snake Moan.

More soul food.

The Sitter

Meh, was hoping it would be better than it was, not a very funny comedy.

Festen (1998)

Good movie, I liked Jagten more, but this one had some fine acting in it as well. The camerawork bothered me a little bit. Would definitely recommend.

How to lose friends and alienate people (2008)

As a huge fan of Simon Pegg, I can appreciate this one as well. Not his best work, but still good enough to sit through. Don't have high expectations and just enjoy a light, breezy, cliche movie.

Taken 2 (2012)

Action packed, fast paced, exiting rollercoaster. Liam Neeson again being as badass as we know he can be. Not as good as the first one and more of the same, but still some very nice action and some beautiful camerawork in Istanbul.

Arbitrage (2012)

Interesting drama/thriller with some great acting from Richard Gere. Really liked it.

Django Unchained:
Will go down as a masterpiece. Already the best movie of 2013, and i'm pretty sure it will stay like that.

A good day to die hard.
Mediocre movie. Too bad, I liked Live free or die hard, that one had better premiss, story and characters.

The purge

Really exciting premise. There's much more going on with the director intentions on what he thinks America has become than actually a great film itself

But it's very watchable

Best films I have seen in the last few years are

Star Trek into darkness
Django unchained

Both essential

Re: Last Movie you watched, and what you thought about it?

The King of Comedy (1983)

In this one Scorsese remains true to his fascination with disturbed and slightly unhinged male characters, but this is also far from the usual Scorsese fare. A much more intimate and thoughtful film than Goodfellas or Casino, in my opinion. A must-see for a piercing satire of American show business as well.

Tron: Legacy (2010)

I must say I saw this in 2D and maybe some of the visual epic-ness was lost on me. As far as storytelling goes, there is of course much to be desired, but not any worse than an average Hollywood blockbuster. This has at least two things going for it: a spectacular soundtrack by Daft Punk and the ever-gorgeous Olivia Wilde looking sexy as hell. Recommendation.

Re: Last Movie you watched, and what you thought about it?

Finally saw the first instalment of The Hobbit. Seriously underwhelmed but it was watchable at least. Just couldn't get involved with the characters as much as LOTR and CGI is overdone in my opinion.

City of God (2002)

I liked, but a bit overrated. Movie doesn't deserve 8.7 rating.

It's an instant classic no doubt, but I've seen all Tarantino films multiple times and I think it doesn't compare to his first films because they are totally dlfferent, but it isn't at the level of Inglorious Basterds which is movie more or less in the same style.

Beautiful colourful sceneries, but misses the personal connection to the characters' fate.
Awful choice of music.
4/10
This story really annoys me, too. Mainly because I never really understand why Gatsby is supposed to be "great". But anyway.
I agree with you about the music, it was daring but terrible.

He got a lot of hate because he was completely miscast and couldn't sing to save his life (I mean, maybe he could have pulled off a Sweeney Tood-like score, but not these songs which are for real singers).
But I agree that it was unfair that HE got all the hate. Jackman who may have something of a voice but massacred all of Valjean's songs.
And it was mostly the director's fault, anyway. Hathaway can sing but they made her gasp and sob instead of singing... And Banks and Redmayne were good but their talent was wasted by horrible filming and "live" singing...
