C'mon Kiwi, get your revenge this time
Coria has to win his 1st round match first.

oh nooooooooooooooo

damn it I didn't even look so far in the draw who would be Kiwi's opponent in the next round

Coria!!!

let's stay for real, anything better than a 3-6 4-6 loss would be a surprise

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Coria won his first round match against Enqvist easily

C'mon Kiefer, you can do better this time

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

So the draw is out for Rome:

Kiefer - Volandri
and
Kiefer / Schuettler - Clement / Zimonjic

Both are difficult, but I think Kiwi will beat Volandri, allthough it's on clay.

It's a good chance, that we can see it on TV against the No. 1 Italian player.

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

I wasn't too happy with this draw but any draw for Nicolas on clay is not likely to be a good one

PAW 2013:
Munich - 2nd place
Halle - 4th place
's-Hertogenbosch - 4th place
GSTAAD - WINNER

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

for me, it would really be a big surprise if Kiwi could beat Volandri. Volandri is much better on clay and made a strong run at this tournament last year on home court advantage.

only chance for Nicolas might be taking advantage that Volandri didn't play much because of his injury (if I remember correctly, Volandri's match in Monaco was the 1st one after his injury break). Maybe he catches Volandri on a bad day.

Good luck, Nicolas!

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

okay, Kiwi lost to Volandri 4-6 6-0 0-6

and a pathetic week for German tennis comes to an end already on Tuesday.
That really very bad, no German made the 2nd round

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

hmmm, Nicolas in his Hamburg 1st round match against Youzhny

Youzhny had two 1st round exits in a row now, but exactly that could be the danger because one might say "Youzhny is due for a win some time". But Nicolas not much better the last matches either.

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

It's bad enough that he sucks on clay (which happens to be my favorite surface ) but the draws that he's been getting are even worse .

True, that Mikhail has been struggling too but he's also better on the red clay.

I guess if there's a positive spin here it's that Nicolas doesn't have any points to defend

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

lol, I don't like clay too much when I'm playing tennis myself, I don't move well and sometimes it really pisses me off... I'm not playing regularly in a club but in Germany you find almost only claycourts outdoor, you hardly can find anything else and I really don't like that. Some people are shaking their heads in disbelief when I'm playing indoor on a carpet or hardcourt in summer when the sun is shining, but that's the way it is *g*

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

I honestly believe Kiefer still has a good chance to win against Michail (maybe the crowd advantage ). It will be nice if both Rainer and Nicolas can win and meet in the 2nd Rd again

Re: Thread for all NICOLAS KIEFER supporters

The stress that a Nicolas vs. Rainer match would bring though
