Yeah I stayed up the whole time too; it ended 2am my time. I watched it from the first, but I didn't time how long it was so I don't know exactly how much they showed us. It was just A LOT of Kiwi and I was very happy That's the best I've seen him play in a long time and I loved how Patty Mac was defending Kiwi's style and saying how intelligent he is on court. I hope ESPN2 gets Mac to call all Kiwi matches instead of Gilbert.

Do not get me wrong, I don't like Gilbert at ALL, but when he called the Kiwi / Agassi match from Montreal last year I was in hysterics at his comments towards Kiwi. But I think in a match that Kiwi wasn't going insane during he would be annoying... And we don't want Kiwi losing his brain right now Just think Amanda, we would have never had the Mr. T Starter Kit without Gilbert

i was thinkin about the same during the match. he could have won many points with longline backhands. Ferrero just didn't seem to have a chance to return the ball from the other side of the court, they kept staying at the same position hitting crosscourts all the time.
btw i just came home from a match, hell i was hitting crosscourts all the time so i think i should shut up now. LOL

Re: Australian tour

Well done Kiwi! I´m soo sad that I didn´t get to see the match, but I´m sure that he played great. His next opponent will be Chela and I think that he can beat him. He has a great chance to make the quarters and I hope that he takes it.

Yeah I missed it to He had to play well to take out JCF. That's a pretty impressive win. I agree he does have a great chance against Chela, though I think it will be tough. Good luck KIWI!!!!

Ah, quite true, Mary. Where would we be had the Mr. T Starter Kit comment never been said by Gilbert? Well, he was an alright guy at that precise moment, but any other time he is annoying. Maybe he'll surprise me one day and say something else worthwhile ...

Re: Australian tour

I see Nicolas took my advice and shaved that scraggy beard off. Well done Bravo

I think he has a good chance against Chela-Nicolas with the win in 5 sets.

He has won the first 2 sets
Hope he won't lose his concentration/temper again, and will close this match in straight sets.

This is probably his best chance in a GS to be in the semifinal

Good luck Kiwi, and keep fighting

Re: Australian tour

Well down, Kiwi!!!!!!
He closed it in straight sets, he didn't serve as well as in the match against Ferrero, but it was still good enough and I was surprsied that Chela could do nothing really bad on consistent basis to harm Kiwi from the basline.

Damn, that was a great match, I'm glad that he stayed concentrated and that he was good enough to win this tiebreak in the first.

BTW, Kiwi showed again a few backhand longlines He hit a few out, but maybe he starts to have more confidence in that shot again!!!

nice was that Kiefer went over the group of Germans fans that supported him in this match and gave them a handshake to thank them for their support

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Australian tour

I definately cried a bit myself. We've been waiting what? like six years to see him get back to a QF in a slam?

Re: Australian tour

Just wanted to pop in and congratulate Kiwi and his diehard fans on an excellent win over Chela today and for the making the QFs of a slam in such a long time. He was looking sharp out there, nothing Chela could do. I'm also happy to see that his hurt ankle is bandaged up, I worry that he'll reinjure himself on that sticky surface.

Good luck to Kiwi in the next round.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."
