Re: Kiwi in Dubai- results & photos

I don't get why Kiwi and Rainer aren't playing doubles together at this tournament. They should be getting in a bit of match practice in case Tommy Haas will be playing singles only in the Davis Cup

My German guys are like the cast of the Wizard of Oz:

Rainer = Lion
Kiwi = Scarecrow
Tommy = Tin Man
Flo = Dorothy

...but I still love 'em

I think the same and I would like to see them both playing doubles again. Before the Olympics they played a few times together to get a bit experience playing together. Maybe they only wanted to team up for Olympics and never again

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Kiwi in Dubai- results & photos

I'm sure in Daviscup the doubles will play Waske/Kiefer or Waske/Schuettler, whoever won't play singles. But I would like to see the silver medallists again, especially cause I didn't see the Olympics.

About the Olympic doubles team... Didn't they say that they both want to focus more on singles? So I guess we'll see Waske teaming up with Tommy.

COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Realistically, I never thought it would happen, but it happened:
Kiwi has taken advantage of what seemed to be a little rusty Marat!!!

OUTGUNNED Marat 7-6(2) 6-4

1st round loss streak is broken with a win over a quality opponent!

I mean that Kiwi wants to focus on singles in general, at least he said so after Athens... and Alex and Tommy for Davis Cup, this double worked quite well the last 2 times.

It's hard to grap, but it was quite a long drought since his last win is already dating back to the beginning of January!

Currently, I don't even care if he loses his 2nd round match or not

That's right, I heard this, too... but I think he was referring more to Grand Slams. That he doesn't want to play singles AND doubles in Grand Slam tournaments anymore.

And the fact that he didn't play doubles at US Open and Australian Open, but the he is still playing doubles in other, smaller tournaments (even if it's not with Rainer, but with Srichaphan or Berdych or whoever) backs this up.
