Re: The European Swing... back on clay

Damn, he lost 2-6 4-6 against Kohlschreiber.

It's not so bad to lose against Kohlschreiber if he has a good day, he is the better clay player in general, but I would have expected kind of a bit closer scoreline

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: The European Swing... back on clay

Good to hear. Hopefully he'll play and doesn't already have any other plans, since he possibly might have no expected to get direct entry.

he is in so it's too late to withdraw unless he is injured. I am sure he planned to get in because since Querrey and Haas withdrew on Tuesday it was obvious that he has a very good chance to get in. If he didn't want to play he would have withdrawn earlier...

That's not the problem. The masters events are only mandatory for those players who get in without any other players withdrawing. Kiwi did not commit to Rome qualies but he committed to the main draw. He could have withdrawn until yesterday. But obviously he wants to play.

Re: The European Swing... back on clay

Damn... so in other words: we can follow him one match (hopefully at least on a main court with TV coverage on a live stream or anywhere else) and then the week is already over again

My bad. That makes of course more sense.

Pretty sure we'll be able to see him on the Pay Stream, since it's against a Spaniard. Not so sure, that he'll be shown on the World Feed, though, and thus on a free stream.
Ferrero is of course the overwhelming favorite. Why didn't he get a a hard court player?

EDIT:

For some reason, I thought that next week's tourney was in Spain. I was probably still thinking about Barcelona.
Well, I hope that the match will take place on one of the two main courts.

Re: The European Swing... back on clay

We're in luck.
We'll be able to follow how Kiefer will be demolished by Ferrero.
Juan Carlos FERRERO vs Nicolas KIEFER first match on Campo 1.

Good luck, Kiwi.

A lot closer than expected. And 36 % serve with 10 aces probably means he took a high risk. Next stop Hamburg and I will cheer as loud as I can to push him there!!!!

Yeah, I also thought it wasn't too crappy. At least he took the close set Better than nothing, but he had no more breakpoints in the last two sets and hardly got receiving points.

And I hope you can cheer very loud, because he could need it Also hoping on a better draw. Maybe a clay non-specialist in the first round would be cool, or even two for the first two rounds!

BTW, do you know if this is going to be a known person or just any random person? Just asking out of interest because both versions exist.

I don't know... I only know it will be made on the show stage... and I don't care I would shoot a celebrity or a random person....

Rafa just lost to Ferrero 57 16 => Kiwi had a better score against Ferrero than Rafa
