At first I wasn't thinking about the DC at all. Instead, I thought that you were being sarcastic and talking about the Indoor Event.

But more seriously, I am fairly certain that a win against Davydenko wouldn't increase his chance to play DC. This year's best german clay player was Kohlschreiber, while Kiefer didn't play any matches on that surface. And replacing the dreadful clay player Haas is out of the question.
But you probably just meant him being part of the team, instead of actually playing.

Re: KIWI returns to the USA! Next stop, US OPEN!!!!!!!!! (summer hardcourt 2007)

Kohlschreiber... hm... he didn't win much lately. He was top in Munich but everything else was not that good. No doubt that he is the best claycourt player we have right now. We still don`t know what's up with Tommy's injury. Kiwi beat Tursunov and Safin. We don't know of course how he plays on clay. There are always 5 players in the team while only 4 can be nominated. I think Kiwi deserves to be in the team at least as No 5. Mayer and Becker were not as good lately. But Patrik Kühnen already decided in Belgium that Kiwi will not be part of the team this year. So I think he can beat Tursunov, Safin and Davydenko and will still not get a chance.

I quite like his draw, if he can pass Davydenko, then the draw is opening up nicely for Kiwi

Good luck

Hopefully that Golovin match - could be at the same time as Kiwis match - won't take too long, because I fear that there won't be any special coverage for the german Eurosport viewers.

This would suck. But I think they always had a good selection available and showed the German matches in the past always quite well if it was a court with cameras (Grandstand for Kiefer tomorrow, so no problems here)

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

I don't know about this draw, he's so unpredictable at the moment. I just hope he can get past Spadea( which I think he can) the crowd will be against him. Good luck tomorrow KIWI!!!!!!!

I don't think he can lose this match to be honest.

My US friend told me that the Americans hate Spadea because of some trouble he caused in the Davis Cup team... so maybe they will cheer for Kiwi

Re: KIWI returns to the USA! Next stop, US OPEN!!!!!!!!! (summer hardcourt 2007)

Straight sets win.

They clearly cheered for Vince and were quite happy when Kiefer hit dfs, but oh well. Apart from the horrible service game when serving for the 2nd set, a pretty good performance. A lot better than for example his match against Djokovic in Wimbledon where he had quite a lot of fh UEs. He'll need to keep that solid baseline play to have a chance against Davydenko.
