All I can do is give a sigh of relief. Didn't get to see (yet - at home on DVR) but it sounded like a really awful match. Thank God he won!

He said on the on court interview he felt tired in the 2nd set and then just tried to keep the ball in and was lucky to serve well in the TB.

I'm actually surprised/impressed Marat won the 3rd set - he's clearly not going to be as fit as other players at the moment...good on him for hanging in there!
