September 13th, 2006 - Channel 3, BEC-Tero, and Thailand Post to issue commemorative Thailand Open 2006 stamps
Channel 3 and BEC-Tero Entertainment, together with Thailand Post Company Limited are set to issue commemorative stamps for the upcoming ATP Tour Thailand Open 2006. Profits from the sale of the stamps will be donated to the Thai Red Cross Society. The stamps come in special collector’s packages, each containing 10 stamps. These are decorated with images of the tournament’s top participating stars, including James Blake, Ivan Ljubicic, Marcos Baghdatis, Lleyton Hewitt, Marat Safin, Andy Murray, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Tim Henman, Gael Monfils, and Thai favorite Paradorn Srichaphan. Only 5,000 of these packages will be issued. In addition to the official commemorative collection, personalized stamps will be available during the tournament. The price of both packages is 250 Baht each.
The Thailand Open 2006 commemorative stamps will be available from September 13 to October 15 or until stocks last. Those who are interested can purchase the stamps at all Thaiticketmaster booths. Stamp collectors and tennis fans can also personalize their stamps by using their own images and photographs to compile a customized collector’s package. This service will be available at the Thailand Post booth in front of Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani during the event.
