Our guy
I won't be surprised to learn that it's true but really it would mean he has a fabulous shape with all the three setters to play on Bangkok and still finding the time to "socialize"

"When I talk to myself on court, I say, ‘I love you, you're a good guy, but don't miss next time, OK?’” Marat Safin, 2004.
MARAT SAFIN US Open 2006: No, when you're 26, it's difficult to change. You can't teach the old dog to sit, huh? "

When you win, when you lose, when you smile or when you're mad : Marat you're still the best to watch.

"Just give yourself the opportunity, give yourself the chance. You have to
be happy with what you have achieved and don't take any notice if somebody
tells you that you should have achieved much more. You have achieved what
you have achieved. Nobody can take that away and you have a clear
conscience." Marat

Re: Fed Not Playing, Marat Will Win "Commemorate the Bun" Open (Bangkok Cheering Thread)

Okay, I found the original article...It's from a Bangkok newspaper.

IT'S ALL IN THE GAME
Bad boy Safin a hit with the girls

No matter how cynical he was and how many racquets he smashed, Russian Marat Safin was still the most popular tennis player among the female fans at last week's Thailand Open.

The Russian's bad boy image seemed to get him even more popularity with the female audience. Screams and cheers echoed around the Impact Arena when he arrived on court and during his matches. Even tennis super model James Blake, who has appeared in magazines like People and Esquire and been on the Oprah show, did not seem to have as much support in the semi-final against the Russian.

Safin also discovered he has a big fan who has just been crowned Miss Thailand World first runner-up, Panassarom Koomkij or "Nicky". He was spotted asking for her number during the opening ceremony and after that she was always there in the crowd supporting him. - The Nation.
