Three baby steps. Top 70. It was a good run, although it was very close to being a better run.

Yep. He won a five-set match and he showed us TopTenKilla, and he even won a match in straights . Plus, he didn't go down easily, so he can take a lot out of this.

Yep but he can also take it other way like he missed the opportunity to make an enormous step back to the top... After his win over Rochus he said that for him, losing next round would be a failure so i'm not sure he's going to take it easy...

"When I talk to myself on court, I say, ‘I love you, you're a good guy, but don't miss next time, OK?’” Marat Safin, 2004.
MARAT SAFIN US Open 2006: No, when you're 26, it's difficult to change. You can't teach the old dog to sit, huh? "

When you win, when you lose, when you smile or when you're mad : Marat you're still the best to watch.

"Just give yourself the opportunity, give yourself the chance. You have to
be happy with what you have achieved and don't take any notice if somebody
tells you that you should have achieved much more. You have achieved what
you have achieved. Nobody can take that away and you have a clear
conscience." Marat

He seems like the type of person to never take anything easy...which is why I love the hell out of him....great run Marat!

I was thinking about that as well. He must be disappointed. This match should have been over in 4.

Top 70 is a pretty good result. I can settle with that! For the moment, of course

Goooo SAFIN ~ BERDYCH ~ MURRAY ~ SIMON ~ NALBANDIAN ~ SODERLING
