Provisionally, Marat's at 30 right now, according to Judio's thread. He has passed Almagro again as well. However, as I post, Wawrinka is winning, which would push Marat down again one spot.

Thanks for that...am feeling more confident now, especially as he won today!

Provisionally at 28. The AO seed is almost guaranteed, but I don't think it's mathematically certain yet, so I'm going to leave the thread title alone for now.

Next stop, though, is top 20!

I don't know; who's number 6 right now? With Vliegen and Grosjean out, Chela on his way out, and Wawrinka likely to go out next, Marat's spot is looking pretty secure.

Re: (Ranking Watch) Baby Steps Took Us Back Into the Top 50--Now We Want a Seed in AO

With everyone in his vicinity out in Paris, I really think he's a lock. Dare I say it? Five people (four if Benneteau or Ginepri has some insane run at Paris) would have to pass him in January, where he's not defending anything, just to get him out of the top 32, and that's assuming nobody withdraws.

Oooohhhhhh.

Let's go for a GOOD seed, Marat!

Re: (Ranking Watch) Baby Stepping to the Top 20!

Okay it seems like our guy is now 26, is true ? If it is : HUGE congrats for making the way from 104 to 26 in less than 2 months !

"When I talk to myself on court, I say, ‘I love you, you're a good guy, but don't miss next time, OK?’” Marat Safin, 2004.
MARAT SAFIN US Open 2006: No, when you're 26, it's difficult to change. You can't teach the old dog to sit, huh? "

When you win, when you lose, when you smile or when you're mad : Marat you're still the best to watch.

"Just give yourself the opportunity, give yourself the chance. You have to
be happy with what you have achieved and don't take any notice if somebody
tells you that you should have achieved much more. You have achieved what
you have achieved. Nobody can take that away and you have a clear
conscience." Marat

I believe it is. Yes, it's amazing what Marat has been able to do with his disaster year. He's earned respect in his own way for this season.

#26??? That's great news!!! If he managed to get from 104 to 26 in so little time, then I think that a beautiful 2007 expects him!
