I know what you mean. I'm still watching AO because I like tennis and I have some other favorite players, but it's just less thrilling for me without Marat there.

But I don't think I will miss him when Wimbledon comes around.

Re: We are as fine as two fine things enjoying a fine day out in Fineland.

It's so weird, you know, before I used to check the schedule of play everyday, the scores, staying up late or waking up very early to watch his matches and searching for photos or interviews and now it's like "uuhh what do I do now?".
I love tennis too and there are other players that I like but they're not Marat. I miss him so much... aghhh so much, so much.

It's the first time that i can't focus on a Grand Slam completely. I love tennis and i will always watch the matches but i miss old passionete days.

Thank god! I think I just found my Aussie Open mojo.

Youzhny won against Gasquet in 5 gruelling, superbly played sets!!!! Absolutely spellbinding match.

Davai Misha!

Does this mean I'm no longer in DENIAL??

not until you change your avie picture to one of The Colonel...

It was a great match. I awoke here in Cali at 5am by chance and caught the tail end... lots of drama! But, my heart rate was no where near the level it was during a Marat match

"My friend, there is nothing so sexy as a woman who is angry. Perhaps when she is even throwing things." MS

That practically amounts to an act of infidelity! Perish the thought! Methinks I'll be in DENIAL for some time ...

Actually, being a Safin fan (or indeed a tennis fan) is a bit like Hotel California, isn't it? You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave ...

Or are your biorhythms now so well synched with the tennis season that you automatically wake up early in the second half of January? Maybe you were being summoned by an ESPN poltergeist ...

LOL my BPM was not partic. affected during Youzhny/Gasquet either, not to take away any of the wonderful drama of that match. With Marat gone, I certainly won't look forward to the start of tournaments in the same way, with the same frisson of anticipation as when he was playing. On the plus side (if there is one), I'm sure we'll all live a lot longer without the constant heart palpitations!

I was up all last night watching tennis - some good matches. I usually watch a lot during the first week, then tune out the 2nd week until the finals.

That tends to be my pattern too. There are usually some real gems in the first week, today's Delpo/Blake encounter, for instance, which I missed due to the goddamn BBC red button service showing Murray/Gicquel instead ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz .......
