I doubt Mardy will be playing. He has injured his left wrist very badly and has to have surgery. He will be out the rest of the year.

Re: BOODLES CHALLENGE

Hi Marat people Well the wonderful Boodles tournamrent takes place about 5 minutes from my house in my local tennis club, so I have been there everyday. Marat made his first appearance there today - he was practising for about an hour this afternoon - first he hit against Pat Cash - then with another guy I am afraid I didn't recognise. Peter was there - and they were having a laugh and enjoying themselves.

Think Marat was a little surprised at the lack of people watching him practice - at one point there was only me!!!! Stoke Park is a very "select" garden party type atmosphere - most of the people there are older and happily wheeling and dealing business in the hospitality areas - they don't know anything about tennis - and half of them had never heard of Marat!!! I think he found it quite refreshing to walk about with no one asking him for autographs or photos!

Have to be honest and admit I didn't wait to see his match as it was last up, - I was cold and tired, and it was quite damp, plus I had some important stuff to do at home. I had already watched Fernando Gonzalez and then David - sorry guys. However, he should play again tomorrow and I will watch him then.

By the way - Boodles and Dunthorne are a very exclusive jewellery company here in England - we may laugh at their name but if any wealthy man wanted to buy me some of their jewellery I would NOT be laughing -it is gorgeous!!!
